Game style:Deep roleplay, Exciting & fast combat, Immersive worlds
Even after a month, the Luna Valley is still reeling from the comet’s impact. The celestial object crashed into the southern mountains, causing havoc not just in the slopes and valleys, but across the entire glacier. The impact continues to radiate heat enough to have melted the permafrost into ever-shifting rivers of mud. The earth shakes as if it is still attempting to reject the thing.
No one had time to react to these changes. Nearly every village and homestead was destroyed by heat, mudslide, or worse. Now, only the town of Tomar’s Crossing, sitting at the crown of the valley’s tallest hill, remains standing. Refugees flock to it, hoping for succor from the omnipresent heat and creatures rumored to roam the land now. Because while brigands and thieves are certainly a worry, the talk of strange undead has brought the only chill these people have felt in weeks.
The Demonplague is a level 1-20 campaign written by Johnn Four and James Introcaso. It is a story of survival in a land that is facing drastic and immediate climate change while a sentient threat that is just as dangerous begins moving in the shadows.
The party will be a classic group of D&D heroes; they start small and eventually face dread horrors that only the most grizzled and hardy can overcome. If you enjoy embodying a hero--their quirks, history and who eventually face consequences of their decisions--then this game is it.
While we will be using the fifth edition rules, there will be modifications on both sides of the screen. For PCs, we will create characters using Arcanist Press' Ancestry & Culture, and the Class Modifier Module by Gabe James. As the DM, I will modify the monsters to make them more engaging, thematic, and threatening for the group. Expect to see classic monsters with new abilities, as well as discover new (or obscure) creatures as you explore.
