Hello! We recently had a couple of players move away, so we've been in need of 1-2 (potentially 3) new players to join our campaign!
Where: We play in Central Texas, in a northern suburb of Austin. HOWEVER, we are able to incorporate online players if you don't live nearby! Online players will be incorporated via Discord audio and/or video (if preferred). All maps are projected via computer as well as important information. An existing Discord server allows for active engagement! The hardest part for an online player will be adapting to playing with an in-person group. Even so, the group is respectful and welcoming to any digital players interested in jumping on board!
When: Every other Sunday at 11am central time. Usually lasts until 1-2pm central time.
Who: Brand new to experienced players are welcome! Our party members are extremely welcoming. Players are only expected to roleplay how they are comfortable - while dynamic roleplay is always preferred, it is NOT required!
Requirements: Anyone interested in joining must be A) supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community, B) respectful and comfortable with a female DM, C) timely, D) polite and courteous to all players, and E) accepting of DM rulings/decisions.
Notes: Our campaign does not use inspiration and does not add DEX to initiative rolls. We also do not use reactions often during combat - generally only if a specific feat/ability is listed as a reaction, or for attacks of opportunity.
Basics:When Darkness Falls is a campaign set in a completely fleshed-out homebrew world of mine - with maps, locations, lore, and far, far more. The campaign takes place a couple of months after a major disaster - known as The Great Ashfall - wiped out tens of thousands across the globe. During this time of hurt, one country send their forces - posing as aid - to invade the disaster-stricken areas. The party manages to escape the invaders and join the rebel forces. Since that point, they have been helping the rebels in any way they've been able to while also struggling with their own personal motivations and needs. This campaign is full of intricate lore, history, hints, foreshadowing, side-quests, red herrings, and more.
Current Party: The party is currently at Level 7, so any new characters will need to be built to this level. The party consists of a Half-Orc Barbarian/Fighter, a Tiefling Sorceress, and a Half-Orc Bloodhunter/Warlock.
Characters Needed: Any characters are welcome, though they will need to be reviewed and discussed to ensure their background matches up with homebrew history/lore. All races and classes are accepted in this campaign, and homebrew content is allowed as long as I approve it first! We could certainly use some sort of healer or ranged fighter, but that is not required!
If you're interested in joining, please let me know! Include the following information:
In-Person or Discord? Campaign takes place in north Austin suburb, but Discord players are accepted! If wanting to participate online, leave your Discord @!
Experience Level: All experience levels are welcome!
Character/Character Concept: Either the character you want to use or the idea(s) you have!
If you seem like a good fit, I will request to do a one-on-one or mini-session (possibly with one other player) with you to establish background and ensure you are a good match!
Hi there. I'm interested in joining since my last sunday campaign is on an extended hiatus. I'm based in the UK but timezone-wise, it's still pretty early for me so I'll be available. I've been playing 5e for about 5 years now with almost all of it coming from the player side of things. My discord is Ouroboros#3090 . Character wise, I'm pretty flexible, so I tend to round out a party. I'd have to learn some of your campaigns lore before I write a backstory, but I've not played a cleric in a little bit so there's an idea.
Your campaign sounds really fun and I'd love to join!
1. I'm from Europe so I'd have to join over Discord (Granite#5973). Time set for the session would be perfect for me. 2. I've played D&D for over 3 years, mainly as a player, not a big fan of being a DM myself. Know basically all the rules but will always let the DM have the last word. 3. I have character concepts for basically anything but from what I've read about this party I'd most likely want to play a Goblin Twilight Cleric who worships a being/god (depends on your rules about clerics and the lore of your world) that wishes to pass on.
I'd love to know more about your campaign and the way you have your players make their characters. Hope to hear from you soon! Let me know if you have any more questions for me.
Hi! I'm Sage! (22, they/them) I'm way into character development and story progression, especially when it changes with our actions! I'm also a total nerd in other ways, but for now I'm just looking for a new game bfhdbdg
I'm actually closer to the Dallas area, so when I'm settled down money-wise, I may be able to come down for in person! At least for the beginning, I'd have to play online! My discord is So'lum#0016!
I've been playing for about 5 years now! All 5e, and I have every 5e book on DnDBeyond and can share them, if you need!
Tazzen (Taz) is one of the best, if not the only leonin gunman on this side of the new disaster. A relatively nice guy on the outside, Taz takes orders from a high ranking man on the invaders' side, having a current affair with them. While he doesn't quite agree with taking out every target that his forbidden lover tells him, he normally obliges. His sniper is named Miranda, not after some other lover, but after his pet cow, who he left to his mother before getting the order to join the rebels. He's kind of a total dork, but can be totally serious when the time comes.
My name is Rose (28, they/them) and your campaign looks super exciting.
1. I would have to join through discord, but I have played through video call with an in person group before and had a lot of fun. My discord is thatstrangecuttlefish#4478
2. I've been playing semi regularly for the last 6 years or so both online and in person. I've mostly played 5e, but there's been a smattering of other systems in there as well. I joined my first fully online group through D&D Beyond in May and it went really great so now I'm trying to find a second group to fill out my week a little.
3. I actually have a level 8 druid character from an abandoned campaign that I would love to de-level, tweak a bit, and get to use again, if you're ok with that. If that doesn't work out, character creation is one of my favorite parts of the game so I never mind an excuse to make another one, lol.
About Lilah: A half-drow circle of the shepherd druid who has mostly lived in isolation deep in the wilds since she was young, regularly taking trips to civilization to earn coin as a bounty hunter and stock up on supplies. She has no time for those who lean on social status and can become very protective of those she sees as her own, whether that is the wildlife surrounding her home or friends who have earned her respect. She is often a level headed voice of reason in party discussions, but isn't always great at doing so politely.
I'm in EST, have limited D&D experience and think your campaign sounds very cool. I'm reasonably flexible in terms of character; it would be something I'd flesh out once I know more about the campaign. My discord is American Bear#8218.
Look forward to speaking and hope you are enjoying the holiday season.
This is a new experience for me so I apologize ahead of time if I'm ignorant or leave anything out. By "new" I am specifically referring to online tabletop play, I am a forever DM with a good bit of experience in physical but I have never played online. That being said I am very much interested in giving it a try, and would love to be a part of this world you have created! I live in Oklahoma, so close but unfortunately not close enough to constitute a weekly session in person. This means our time zones should match up though.
1. Discord would be the ideal way for me! [Wovoka#9776] on discord
2. I have more experience as a DM(1 year long campaign, dozen+ short modules, and currently running a campaign that's been going for 6 months), but I have played ~4 modules as a player (give or take, combing pieces of short lived ones, ect.)
3. Part of what has spurred me to being a player again is the concept of this character. They are named "Wovoka" (if you are familiar with native peoples history it might ring a bell) and I fell in love with it after designing a bad guy for my own campaign. While this character isn't inherently a bad guy, he is a rogue primarily focusing on "Thrown Weapon Fighting." I imagine they will be a Soulknife rogue. Their race will either be a vanilla Variant Human or, with some collaboration from you, a Custom Lineage that will fit the campaign more closely and we can create something unique. I also heavily value the character as a face (if needed) as their namesake was a religious man, but mainly a cultural leader.
That's it! I hope to hear from you, and wish you luck in your hunt!
Hello! I will say, firstly, I sadly do not live nearby, so I'd have to attend online, but the events and descriptions of the game world and events are incredible, so I really can't help but apply!
1. Discord works best for me, my Discord is Cheem Bean #1337.
2. I have around 2-3 years of DnD experience, however I had to take a 2 year hiatus for work, so I've been looking for a good campaign to help me get back into it.
3. The Great Ashfall in particular gave me an idea for a character. I'm more liquid with the characters class, but I have more experience with Rogues, Fighters, Monks, etcetera. The character I have in mind would be Simon Whetson, a Sea Elf from a tribe displaced by the Great Ashfall. In short, he had to leave his tribe to try and find aid, as their home is destroyed and polluted by the disaster. Heading inland, he'd see the tragedy the event caused on the surface, and likely stumble across the party as a result. Currently, he's very closed-minded, only worrying about the safety of his people, so he could likely be in it for the chance to have his tribe live among them in the rebuilt society in exchange for his services. Though, personally, I fully intend to have him evolve character wise.
I hope you can maybe reach out to chat if its not too late. If you're already filled up, or I just don't seem interesting to recruit, I still hope you have a wonderful campaign!
In-Person or Discord? From PA I'd be on discord LebLTD#0609 or whatever is easiest
Experience Level: Newish, I've played to level 7 in a previous campaign that's been on a hiatus. I'm familiar with the rules and I'm a quick learner.
Character/Character Concept: I actually have been wanting to play a dwarf cleric that I made some time ago. His name is Thorin FireForge, and he has a soldier background already, so we could tweak his backstory to fit in with the world easily.
A little bit about me, I'm 29. Been a nerd my whole life (fantasy novels, HP, LoTR, MTG, etc) I'm a really laid back guy, and easy to get along with. I was involved in theater for years so if you manage to bring me out of my shell I'm a fairly decent RP person. I hope to hear back from you, if not then I wish you luck in the campaign!
Hello, I don't live in Texas, but my discord is FCSboi#6318
I have around 4 years of experience mostly as a player.
If you are okay with it, I would like to play a Sidekick, a Cackler Expert, who met paladin who caused him to have a personal crisis about who he is and his behavior. Now he is trying to work with others, care about others, and think about the future. If you are not okay with that, my other idea is a Lizardfolk Rouge who is pretending to be a Green Dragonborn Wizard because he was forced to sell out the location of his people, and was never forgiven for that.
