Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: A few years as DM Location/Timezone: Newcastle, Australia Availability: Would prefer weekday evenings, though I am pretty flexible with weekends. Preferred role: Player Game style: Open to all kinds of playstyles/themes.
Background: I have played in a weekly in-person game for the last 4 years as a DM, and have been a player for 3 one-shots. We tried to make the switch to online but I found prep overwhelming as DM and, with a new job, the sessions fizzled out. I would love to be able to play again.
I have an offer if you’re interested. I DM for a group of 3 players - varying ages. We originally started with the Lost Mines of Phandelver and now roam the Sword Coast based on a floating story I have tied into some their backstories. It’s sketchy, but I do have a rough plan! Over time we’ve also had a couple of casual players – mostly during lockdowns - but it became tricky with the unpredictability.
As a group, we’ve been playing for about two years now - all NSW based. We use only Roll20, with a messenger group for organisation (the latter could be worked out). We all work full time, so are fairly locked into Saturday nights for 3-4 hours (kick off 7 pm). We play fortnightly, sometimes weekly when things are quiet.
The team has a rogue, a ranger and a tempest cleric. We are mid-campaign, almost level 9, and the story sees them moving from Silverymoon towards the desert to the east. They are searching for the ‘Shard of the Seas’, with rough clues on its whereabouts. My players are highly invested/committed and would like someone to balance the party - both with commitment, enthusiasm and class. It’s my first campaign as a DM, yet I seem to handle my own. For that reason, we’re sticking to the standard races/classes for the most part.
If all of this sounds like something you’re interested in, you're welcome to help them find the Shard of the Seas - probably 6-10 sessions depending on speed. It might give you that something you are looking for.
Happy to field questions, or if it's not what you're after, no probs either.
The campaign you are running seems pretty great! The one I was DMing also started with LMoP and had begun to progress into STK, so I'm familiar with the setting. I love backstory-influenced-style play so it's great to hear you do too.
I'm pretty confident I can make your timeslot, is there any particular race/class you would prefer to fill in the gaps? I am open to all kinds and would love to know how I can fit into the world you have crafted.

Hi Mitch,
