Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: EST Availability: Changes weekly Preferred role: Player Game style: I am looking for a healthy mix of fighting, role playing, and puzzle solving. I don’t mind leaning in any particular direction for the story’s sake but preferably not only fighting or role playing. Preferably a long campaign but doesn’t have to be.
Here’s the scoop. I have watched a bunch of dnd streams and played a few sessions with a friend. The issue is that I freelance for work so my schedule is neither consistent nor constant. Some weeks I am crazy busy and some weeks I have nothing going on. I can’t commit to a set time every week but I can promise I will do everything in my power to try to make the agreed upon time. I am very communicative so you’ll always know my schedule as soon as I find out about it or if anything changes. Evenings work best if I am working but I can meet anytime on a day I don’t work. I really want to play so I’ll move mountains if it’s within my power. I will download whatever software I need to play with you also.
As a player, I am funny and laid back. I don’t like the spotlight so I never hog it. I try not to trample over good exposition with bad jokes. I try to make characters that fit seamlessly into the world that the DM has created. I look to create fleshed out characters that have clearly defined strengths and weaknesses. I look for clever role playing possibilities whenever possible. I want to interact with the world and not just run around murdering NPCs. I like the idea of rewarding good role playing and punishing player characters that act outside themselves. I’m constantly looking for breadcrumbs and clues and creative solutions to problems. The only thing that upsets me as a player is surprise rule changes. I’ll read all of the materials you give me. I will run my crazy idea by you before hand to see how you’d rule it before springing it on a boss one day. All that jazz. Just don’t surprise me with a home brewed rule change that you neglected to tell me about which gimps my character or how a mechanic normally works. I will work with you if you work with me.
If all of that works for you, then feel free to reach out via discord: EmptyBags
I don’t use it often so I apologize if it takes me a moment to respond. I want to play ASAP!
