Game style: Curse of Strahd campaign!
==============================
DM Teague’s weekly Curse of Strahd game is an exciting, tense, fast-paced adventure. It is a vivid exploration of classic gothic horror tropes and monsters, from werewolves to vampires, ghosts, and more. It provides players with the freedom to make their own choices and build the kind of adventure they enjoy. It is an unabashedly character-driven campaign, giving your player character an incredible chance to shine and make their mark on the story your group tells.
Module Introduction
Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle’s towers. Now Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited...
Player Requirements
A stable internet connection.
Audio that allows us to hear you over Discord.
A minimum of 4 players signed up to play.
Ability to arrive on-time for the game at 6:00 PM GMT.
A way of paying the $10 (USD) per session (after a free first session) per player.
Session 0:
In this free session we will cover ground rules, align expectations, character build, get to know each other, and play through a quick one-shot. The play time in this session will help you get into character as well as get a sense for my style of DMing! Try before you buy.
A Player Primer
Curse of Strahd can be a brutal, stressful, and alienating experience. Your character will be in a dark gothic land quite different from the world they know. The adventure contains several encounters and areas that will likely be far beyond your capabilities when you first encounter them and it does not provide routine or readily-available loot or magical items.
As-written this campaign is full of disturbing and graphic content. If you are potentially triggered by elements of child abuse, murder, stalking, gaslighting, torture, mind control, cannibalism, child death, animal cruelty, body horror, child abandonment, or portrayals of alcoholism or drug abuse, please reach out to me about working around or entirely avoiding these elements.
You should play Curse of Strahd if you:
Love gothic horror tropes and themes.
Want to engage with a character-driven story that pushes you to develop relationships with multiple vivid NPCs and factions.
Prefer roleplay, investigation, and relationship-building to combat or dungeon-delving.
Enjoy setting your own goals and pursuing means of achieving them.
Enjoy facing an active, powerful, and personally antagonizing villain.
Want to participate in a tense, adrenaline-fueled experience that will create memories to last a lifetime.
Want to play weekly in 3 hour sessions.
Why Pay to Play?
D&D requires knowledge of the rules. I have access to all of these through D&D Beyond and assets on Roll 20.
Low turnover of players. Payment ensures commitment and respect for your time
D&D requires a place to play and for us it is on Roll20 and Discord. I will help players navigate the interfaces.
I will have an organized and complete campaign that is responsive to the players interests and character’s goals.
I invest hours into the game preparation and complete world and story building in alignment with the players and character interests.
I also bring detailed maps, tokens, music, and background images to the game to enhance your immersion.
Non-player Characters (NPC’s) are flushed out and will be voiced according to their personalities.
Session 0 is free.
If you are not satisfied with your experience your money will be refunded.
You will have access to all my D&D Sourcebooks through D&D Beyond.
