tl;dr: There isn't one. :) Please only respond after reading the entire post and it all sounds like a good fit.
I'm looking to host a game of DnD 5e for a small group. Four people would be just about right. Age 18+, no homebrew.
We'll be playing every Tuesday at 7pm PST. Sessions will be about 3 hours. This schedule will not change and it's important that you're available to play at this time every week. I really want to get a stable group going. Session zero could be this Tuesday, Feb 22d or the following week.
My game style is casual and humorous with light roleplay. I like to emphasize fun, exploration, and creativity instead of melodrama and interpersonal conflict. This session hosted by Chris Perkins is a good example of a style that I like.
I think some old-timers who want to get back into the game would be a good fit. Or some new players who are motivated to play and excited to learn. I'm looking for people who want to work together, help the townsfolk, outsmart the goblins, and clear our some dungeons. Not interested in edgy, evil, or anti-social behaviours.
I like the Backgrounds and Ideals features in 5th edition. D&D is best when we're all telling a story together and these character traits make a good foundation for that. I sometimes use rules or ideas from older editions: like the Skill Challenges from 4th edition. I also sometimes get old rules mixed up with new rules, so keep an eye on me. ;)
We'll be running Dragon of Icespire Peaks. It's a great place to start with a straightforward quest system. If things go well we could continue to the follow-up modules like Storm Lord's Wrath or maybe branch off into Rime of the Frostmaiden.
We'll be using D&D Beyond and AboveVTT for the characters and maps. Discord for voice chat and out of session group chat. Voice is required.
If you're interesting in joining please Private Message me here. Replies to this thread will be ignored. You could include a bit about what you'd like to see in a game, a description of what your character might be, or a quick personal introduction.
A bit more about me:
I'm a 54 year old who's been playing D&D sporadically since 1979: mostly 3e and 5e. In the last couple years I've run a small in-person game with my family and an on-line game with 4 friendly strangers. My DM skills are rusty but improving. I have a good feel for the online tools now.
My hobbies include video games, 3D modelling, gardening, and procrastinating. I make all sorts of crazy stuff: 3D printables, VR video games, and fractal animations. You can find out more about my creative meanderings at BrainBlinks.com.
Update: All seats filled.
