Setting: Curse of Strahd - Extended Edition

Looking to add two more players to an existing group.  Total group size will be five.

Game: D&D 5e.  Gritty sandbox, dark-horror style game with a balance of strategy, plot hooks, role-playing, combat and impactful decision making. Full emersion with sound/music, animated effects, VTT, chat and voice.
Group type: Online using DnDBeyond, Discord, Syrinscape, FoundryVTT.
Experience:  Semi-experienced to seasoned players are welcome. 
DM Location/Timezone:  Michigan (EST).
Schedule: One of my players is in Ireland so games will be held on Sunday mornings starting around 10/11 am EST.  1 session per month minimum, no more than 2 per month.  Sessions will last 3 hrs.  Start day/time for the next session will be set at the end of each session. 
Roles sought:  Looking for 2 players.

Campaign Stuff

1. This is not a campaign you can murder-hobo your way through.  If the DM does his job you won't want to.
2. Decisions you and your party make will have significant impact to the plot, quests and final outcome of the campaign. 
3. I never require my players to take notes on who they meet, where they've been, quests they've discovered and items they've found.  Having said that I can guarantee you that you will have a more enjoyable campaign and will be more likely to succeed in your quests if do.
4. Loaners beware...Characters that wander off on their own stand little chance of survival.
5. Feel free to go anywhere, do anything and talk to anyone.  Word of caution: You might not be ready for some of the encounters you come across.  In these instances negotiating and or walking/running away are definitely options you should consider.  You are definitely not the most powerful things in this campaign.
6. Lighting is a big deal in this campaign.  Characters that need to provide a light source in dimly lit areas will need to consider how that will be achieved when creating their character.
7. I will be hosting a session zero to walk through character creation (see "Session Zero" below).
8. Multi-class players..... Feel free to make one, but if you've never run a multi-class character it's probably best if you don't start with this campaign.
9. Know how your character works.  If you don't know then feel free to ask.  This is a very friendly/experienced table. 
   • Spell casters should know their spells and have a general idea on how they work.
   • Characters with special traits/features should know when and how to apply them.

House Rules

1. We play a pretty casual game. Have fun!
2. Let others talk and share the mic.
3. Rules lawyers kill the fun, slow things down and takes everyone out of the game.....  don't do it.  If you have an issue with ruling I fully encourage you to contact me after that game.
4. Unless specified all roles will be made public. Death saving throws and a select number of checks made by the DM will be made in private to avoid meta-gaming.
5. Inspiration points are awarded for playing your character in a way that aligns to your "character as written" and not you, "the human player". 
6. Experience Point (XP) will not be used.  Your character will level up after completing certain tasks, heroic deeds, problem solving, epic role-playing, etc.

Session Zero

1. Characters should come from the compendium of published books that I will make available on my DnDBeyond account. I literally own every book. We will not be using anything from the "Internet", "Unearthed Arcana", "Wiki" or "Homebrew" it's almost always unbalanced, steals agency from other players and slows down gameplay way too much.
2. Creating characters using the "point buy" or "standard array" method (your choice).
3. No flying races.  You can technically run any race, just know that the following will have a significant disadvantages in this campaign; Aasimar, Bugbear, Centaur, Changeling, Fairy, Genasi, Gith, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kalashtar, Kobold, Leonin, Loxodon, Minitaur, Lizardfolk, Orc, Owlin, Satyr, Shifter, Simic Hybrid, Tiefling, Triton, Vedalken, Warforged, Yuan-Ti. 
4. We will spend some time testing and working out any technical issues with Syrinscape, DnDBeyond, Foundry VTT, Discord, mic's, sound, etc. during session zero.

I have never played D&D. However, I am familiar with the game to a certain extent as I am a fan of Critical Role, and played all of the Forgotten Realms video games. I have a theater background and am a writer, and well-versed in creating a well-rounded fictional characters. I am very much interested in role playing. I am willing to play any character class the party needs and will guarantee a memorable character.

Sounds like an interesting game if you are still looking for someone. I'm new to the tabletop format, only done one beginner one shot on Roll20, but I'm familiar with a fair amount thanks to D&D based games like Pathfinder and Baldur's Gate.
