Hello! We are a group of 5 new players who are hoping to start our DnD journey. We are all ready to start today but due to unforeseen circumstances we were left without a DM. We are light hearted, fun and witty group. Looking for some some action and some role play, as well as a DM who is willing to show us the ropes and play with us for some time.
As we are about to start today most of us have an idea of what our characters will look like/be like. We are using a couple of exotic races but all of it is from already existing official DnD content. Don't worry, none of them fly. :)
We are hoping to play Sundays, starting out once a month unless we can all find time to play more frequently than that! We are all free the rest of the day today if you'd like to do a meet and greet and/or get started with character creation. Looking forward to meeting you!!!
While I might possibly not be the DM your group is looking for, if you are in need of one, I am available (outside of the ~monthly in-person game I run for my friends, or the random summoning for me to go in to work).
A brief history of my roleplaying experiences, I started playing D&D in the mid 90s (3.0) as a player with some brief attempts at DMing (I don't think I was very good), before playing 3.5 for a while when it was released before stopping for several years. Fast forward to the late 2010s, where I once again got into the hobby as a player. I've been in several one shots (both 5e and Call of Cthulhu), as well as a player in a Curse of Strahd Campaign (which was finished last year). I am currently DMing the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign for my friends as everyone's schedule permits (read as "about once a month on Sundays")--it is enjoyable to be behind the DM screen once again.
The resources I prefer to use for online games are discord for voice chat, dndbeyond for character sheets, and Foundry as the virtual tabletop application. Is there a specific campaign you/your adventuring party is looking for? I can run any of the official modules (the recent sale found its way to my inbox and resulted in my purchasing all the content), although I would need a week or two to prep myself (and foundry) for it.
Good luck in your adventures,
Glug
