Epic Tales of Erune (campaign synopsis) The region of Erune has been recovering from a magical calamity that had rendered much of the region uninhabitable for the past 300 years. In the recent years settlers and adventures have ventured into this treacherous region trying to reclaim their ancestral lands, find out what caused the calamity, and seek out many of the fabled riches of the lost empire. The party has set sail from distant ports and is about to reach their first stop in the region of Erune. A small town on the coast of the Emerald Sea, welcomes them into a mysterious and dangerous new adventure.
About me First of all, thanks for taking the time to read all this.
Online I go by the alias "Yunzel", I am 31 and male, and I have been an avid fan of D&D for a fair few years now. Experienced as a player in several campaigns, and I have ran a one-shot before in a similar theme as this campaign.
I enjoy high-fantasy settings, with an equal mix of combat, exploration, and roleplaying. However, I am quite flexible on this topic. My main goal is that we all have fun at the table, and I'll try my utmost best to accommodate all players in that venture.
As mentioned, I am still fairly new at being a DM, so things will start out a tad bit slower. I am sure with the prep I have already done this will be a non-issue quite quickly.
Player Expectations New players are welcome, as long as you're willing to learn the system gradually.
First and foremost I expect any player to want to join and play in this campaign. Obviously this means being interested in the game style, and the nature of the campaign. I tend to steer clear of a more gritty playstyle, as well as PvP, and other more taboo topics. My philosophy is that we can easily make an enjoyable game without those kind of things.
Furthermore I expect basic stuff like respect for each other, following the established rules, adhering to the schedule, etc. We'll of course be discussing the finer details in a session 0.
Since this will be an online game, Discord and a decent and working mic is required. The VTT we will be using is still quite hard to use on mobile devices, so take that into account.
I would prefer players around the same age range as mine.
Like to join? If you'd be interested, I have prepared a small Google Forms with 10 small questions. Please fill these out so I know a little bit more about you. In there you can provide your preferred way of me contacting you back.
My current schedule allows me to run the game on sunday, monday, or thursday, starting around 19:00 UTC+1 and running for 3 to 4 hours.
Don't panic if I don't respond within a day or two, I have a few other obligations nowadays, hence why I can only run a session every second week. I'll keep the survey open for a week or two and try to get back to you as soon as possible.
Any other questions? Feel free to ask in this post or send me a dm.
Can me and my brother I'm 11 and he is 13 we r new to D&D.
Hey friends, I really appreciate the interest greatly. I'm afraid I won't be able to give you guys the right kind of game, since I've gotten mostly interest in the 20's age range. And I'm fairly new to the whole DM'ing situation, so I think there would be more suitable games for you two. I wish you the very best though!
Going to close this post off for now, since I've gotten quite some interest, and I'll have to sort through it all. I'll leave another update once I've gone through everyone's forms.
Had a hard time choosing between all interested, but I have gathered the 4 lucky players, by at times very arbitrary selection and scheduling criteria. I'd wish I could play with many of you, based on the great applications you all sent in. In any way, I want to thank you all again for the interest, and hope you all find a fantastic game to play in.
