I am running a new Call of the Netherdeep module game, Monday Nights at 7 PM eastern. I've got lots of experience as a player but this will be my first time DMing a game of 5e. So hopefully that does not scare any people off. Right now, I have two players from groups I am already in signed up and looking to round out the party with three more, since 5 is the recommended number for the module.
Please apply below with a brief character concept, as well as your idea for how a party should function smoothly. Thank you!
I run a fun game with good knowledge of the rules but I am a little more lenient towards automatic successes and rule of cool. All official sources are allowed, and I say a point buy system usually works best!
I'd like to run Dro Baensek a Half Drow Ranger/Fighter with a Folk Hero background, he became known around the area of Rosohna by taking care of a band of bandit who were attacking some traveling merchants.
I will give this a shot if you have room for an additional player. Been playing since 2008 and DMing since 2020. Just looking for something to keep myself busy. I have different character concepts just would like to see what everyone else is doing so I don't step on any toes.
I'd love to join in on this as I am also DMing this module so I'd love to see it from a player perspective. (I won't spoil anything and I'll play a Himbo type so I can always play dumb.)
I'll toss my hat into the ring, so to speak. Been hoping to join a Netherdeep game and this timing would work out pretty well for me too.
A character type is a little tougher to pin down without knowing what has already been spoken for. For now I'll say I've been meaning to give playing a druid a shot one of these days, Stars in particular gives off some really cool vibes. But an Exandria game is a pretty good opportunity to play an Echo Knight too, both for gameplay and RP reasons. So I'd put those forward as my initial choices, I do have characters in mind for both but I'll save those details for now, depending of course on what's already being used.
As for parties running smoothly, IC and OOC, it's all about communication. What are players looking to do or try, are folks trying to do the improv "yes, and-" to suggestions to keep things moving forward etc... etc... You just try and make sure everyones having fun and feeling like they matter at the table.
I don't know much about the Call of the Netherdeep. I typically play more "tank" type characters (fighters, barbarians) and have recently been enjoying playing a paladin (still tanky but having some heals to help the party).
Parties who have fun, show respect for one another, and who are creative enough to support and build off of what other players/characters do seem to deliver the most enjoyable experience for me. In my playing history, parties have had members ages 12 to 60. As long as they enjoy the game and contribute, it should be a great time. And I agree with YCBself - communication is important.
Hi, I would definitely be interested. I have a lot of character concepts and prefer to fill wherever the party is lacking. The only thing I don't play is pure spellcasters. I've been playing since 2013 and DM'd once before, mostly 3.5 and 5e (one incident of 4.0 that we won't talk about...I very much don't like that edition.)
Something that helps the party function smoothly is making sure you don't have too many Grumps. It's fine to have people with darker backstories or more selfish motivations, but it really harms the party if they don't feel like a unit working in tandem, and a lot of that comes down to character choices and chemistry among the players.
I’d want to run a Human variant gunslinger, with a haunted past. He’s assumed to be dead by everyone that knew him and seeks revenge on those who caused tragedy. And smooth party should just be people that can easily bounce off what the others are role playing and go along with it.
Hey, would like to get back into D&D if I can. I’ve played off and on for about 20 years, but it’s been a few years, and I am itching to play. Watching too many Critical Role episodes, and you’re hooked.
I play a variety of characters, mostly fighters, but whatever niche the existing party hasn’t filled yet is fine. As far as groups go, I enjoy groups most when they’re just out to have fun.
Checking to see if you still have space! If not no worries. Pretty new at play DND but I think I have the basic concept down. I have friends who play and watch a bit of Dimension 20 and critical role.
Hello, I would be playing as Horakos Yet’efa an elderly Tiefling Paladin/Warlock. Plagued since childhood by two gods playing tug of war between him. One of the gods is good the other is maybe bad. Would have to flesh this one out for the campaign with the DM. Would also like to bring a friend along. For a party to function smoothly I think the chemistry should be right. Too many selfish bastards out there doing their own thing without a care for the rest.

Hey there! I've got plenty of experience playing D&D both 5e and older editions, started when I was like 8 and I'm 31 now <,<. I've been really looking forward to experiencing CotN as a player. My ideas aren't set in stone, but I've been playing with the idea of a hobgoblin fighter (psionic warrior) who is seeking to prove themselves worthy of Consecution. So a sort of erudite, tactician kind of fighter. One who fights more with their head than with their muscles. Though I've got plenty of ideas to pivot so as to not step on anyone's toes. As an added bonus, I have a master subscription and plenty of player resources :D
Might be a little late replying here, but I’ve been wanting to play something in Exandria for a while now! I’m currently really into the idea of playing either a Druid or a monk (very different I know, but it depends on what the party already has!). I feel like a good game will just have characters that get invested in the story and help to play it out, as well as a DM that’s enthusiastic, but let’s the players take the story where they want (obviously within reason)
I'm interested. I've been playing for a while and find that groups will best work when they work with the other players instead of against them. Cooperation and consideration is very important, with a large dose of tact to round it out. It is, at its base, a GAME! Let's have FUN!!
I love to play druids, rangers and rogues. Back story is varied. I can come up with something that would suffice. :)
Availability: Live in Texas, US CST zone. Stay at home, so time is not an issue.

I’d probably run a tiefling bard as a character.

I am definitely interested but may have a conflict due to work scheduling. I do have a tiefling blood hunter and a few other characters I've created.
