Players will require a DnD Beyond account, a Foundry player account (free), and Discord. We will be using Discord for voice, and your PC should be able to handle animated maps, as I make liberal use of these. In addition to animated maps, I enjoy using music and sound effects to enrich players' experience. Although this is Curse of Strahd, I also like to modify content heavily, adding in lots of side quests, items, etc....however, BECAUSE this is Curse of Strahd, please be aware of the following trigger warnings:
child abuse, murder, kidnapping, gaslighting, racism, sexism, torture, mind control, cannibalism, sexual assault, mental illness, animal cruelty, body horror, incest, suicide, drug addiction, and alcoholism
We will allocate some time during session 0 to discuss any possible tweaks to accommodate player sensitivities, without losing the overall tone of the campaign.
"You're not certain how you have come to this place, but it is obvious to you all that something, somehow, is gravely wrong. There is a chill that seeps through your clothes and into your very bones. There is a foreboding in the air, borne upon the night wind, that serves to whiten your grips on your weapons. You are reluctant even to speak, lest the sound disturb things that are best left undisturbed. In the distance, a lone, mournful howl. Nearby, a faint crack from beneath the dark boughs. Your pupils dilate, desperately seeking whatever light they can to better prepare you for whatever horrors yet lie hidden. Your heart races, and your tongue moves in a mouth suddenly too dry to even swallow. You step back, with a slight stumble, against the ethereal sight materializing from the inky forest; a woman, tall and slender, wearing the moonlight like a mantle on her bare, white shoulders. She is easily the most beautiful woman you have ever seen, so why do you feel such deep, bone-gnawing dread ? You barely notice the other two ladies glide smoothly across the tumbled ground, and when you do, it is only to note that they are no less beautiful. Distantly, in the far recesses of your mind, a small voice is asking, "if the cold numbs my hands, why are they clad in but a meager shift ? If the ground is tumbled and broken, why do they wear no shoes?" The wind shifts, and unbidden, your nose wrinkles against the faint coppery scent from deeper in the forest, from behind the three alabaster ladies. The first brushes back an errant lock of her dark red hair, moving with an unthinking, preternatural grace. She smiles easily, her eyes locking with yours, stealing away all the urgent thoughts racing through your mind. So it is that you fail to notice her dainty and pointed canines or her slim, white fingers, caked with gore. "Are you lost?", her voice is dark velvet, her accent foreign and cultured, "this land is not kind to the ...unprepared".
Overhead, dark clouds now hide the moon. In the distance, a lone, mournful howl."

Hello new players ! I'm someone that has over 20 yrs of experience running DnD. Seeing that there are so many new players here looking for their first games, I thought I'd help out. Yes, it is a paid game. However, I think you'll agree it's worth when you experience the work and detail I put into every session. To keep costs down for everyone, I put together an adventure that should only take 3-4 sessions to complete. After that, players should have a great understanding of how DnD works and should feel confident joining just about any game out there. My games are inclusive to everyone, and for new players I stay away from anything that might be potentially triggering.
Logistically, you will need a DnD Beyond account (of course), Discord, and a Foundry VTT player account. All of these are free. I run my games online on Foundry, using Discord for voice comms. My Discord ID is DM#5773 if anyone wants to chat directly for more info.
