The group starts as local villagers of Ash Hill. In the middle of the night, you are woken up by the sound of battle and the smell of smoke. As you rush outside, you see the village in flames. Your families, friends, and neighbors are being slaughtered by a large group of armored humanoids bearing a symbol of a purple flame surrounding a skeleton hand reaching upward. You managed to fend off a few men and even down a few but soon realize that the village is lost. You quickly turn your attention to saving as many of the villagers as you can. In the aftermath, you now face a dilemma. Do you let the survivors starve in the arriving winter or escort them across the mountains to the nearest town to start over.

The same questions keep going through your head. Why? Is your town the only one attacked? What did they want? Who is responsible? Who will bear the blunt of your vengeance?
