Hi I'm Olivia, I saw your post in dndbeyond. I am running a Curse of Strahd campaign on Sundays at 7pm CST. It is a paid game, $10 per session, but session 1 is free. I have run Strahd before and incorporate homebrew, and will weave your backstory and character into the plot. I also have most sourcebooks available to share on DNDbeyond. Strahd is a little advanced but I am willing to work with you to help you understand mechanics. Does that sounds like something that would interest you?
Why do people charge to play? I never understood that, and unfortunately I don't have a job right now so it's not something I could justify anyway, even at that low of a price. Bills take priority and all that. Thank you for the offer tho
Totally understandable. As for why people pay to play, it's mostly for time and investment. I have paid for a master tier subscription so I can share content with players, and I've bought most of the sourcebooks on DNDbeyond, which is 100s of dollars. I also spend at least 2 hours outside of game planning. It's a different vibe because you can expect me to provide a dun gaming experience, which some people prefer to a more casual friends around a table vibe. That's why I charge, but I get that if there's no money, then there's no money.
Oh okay yeah I totally get that then! Since I'm just starting the friends around the table vibe is probably more what I'm looking for now and then more serious gaming once I kind of understand everything a bit better. Thank you though!
Would you be willing to look at a few characters I rolled up though and give an idea of what you think? I don't have backstories yet, just the characters race, class and such. If not it's fine, just want some opinions of people with experience
