Hello! I'm a player with five years of experience with D&D 5e. Currently running two games, but I'd like the chance to play in one as well! Looking mostly for more roleplay-heavy games, but I'd love to talk to y'all about your games and groups. Here's a bit about me, so you get an idea of who you're (potentially) inviting! I'd prefer DM's as opposed to responses on this post, but either is fine.
Name: Aran Age: 21 Pronouns: He/Him Time Zone: United Kingdom (BST) Availability: Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, starting from 2 PM to 11 PM, and can continue until 3 AM.
About me and my experience with D&D 5e: I'll start with a fun fact and then move onto the more general stuff! I used to be an urban explorer! From the ages of sixteen to eighteen, my friends and I would bundle into a car and travel across England, sometimes for a couple of days. That's because we were hunting through the most haunted places in the country, abandoned buildings and whatnot. It was a lot of fun and made better by the fact we were a D&D group! We got to use what we saw and where we went as inspiration for one-shots and whatnot.
Sadly, I moved away and the adventures concluded there. Still, the years we had together and the places we went were amazing! I've got plenty of fun stories to tell. I'm looking to join this game so that I can recapture some of that spark that lures me towards Dungeons & Dragons and to have fun with you fine folks! I love trying out new modules and adventures and it's been a while since I had the opportunity to link up with an entirely new group and game! I'm not a flakey person, I'm currently in two campaigns and one's been going for almost four months at this point and we're having a blast!
Very much into pets! Helped run a Dog Rescue for a few years, have eleven dogs and three cats myself. That's probably why I like playing Wizards so much - I get to call up a fluffy/feathered/finned companion whenever I want!
I’m a Graphics Designer and Games Artist by trade, though I’m looking to pursue another career path at the moment. Enjoy most forms of media- books, movies, shows and the like, always something fantasy related, usually with a sprinkling of political intrigue!
As for my personality, I’d say I’m a rather confident person- I can thrive in already formed groups and work to cement myself as part of the roster, rather than just being ‘the new guy’!
As for my experience, I have been playing D&D 5e for six years. My friends and I got into it when Critical Role S1 was just getting popular and didn't look back! I've been roleplaying for ten years now on a variety of mediums; voice, LARP, text. Forums, Games, Tabletops, and all of those! I'm quite capable of getting into and staying in character. I can bounce off of and adapt to most scenarios and am very-much capable of splitting out-of-character and in-character.
Favorite Thing about D&D D&D's at its best when we can have a mature, collaborative storytelling experience. For me, I've always been drawn to the allure of storytelling. Be it a module or a homebrew game, there's always going to be twists and turns the players take, decisions that break the mold, and carve out a unique narrative for their own group. Watching a movie or reading a book, you can't change the outcome - you're brought along for the ride and, while that can be entertaining, it's so much more fulfilling to directly have a hand in shaping a narrative alongside the other players!
