New DM looking for online players

Hey y'all, 

I'm looking for around 4 players (new or old, all genders, all ages) to join me in a Discord based 5e DnD campaign using Roll20.

Sessions will preferably be hosted between Tuesday and Thursday at 10am (AEST) Fortnightly. Session times are subject to change depending on availability of the players.

Campaign wise, I would like to run either Storm King's Thunder or Lost Mine of Phandelver, we can decide during session 0.

I must admit though, I'm not all that experienced but I enjoy doing it. I've run 2 other groups and have 1 active table group. This will be my first online experience as a DM, so please bear with me as I'm still learning as well.

What are the basic details of the character you want to play? Wizard, High Elf, Chaotic Neutral (Will PM you char sheet)

What are your character's goals beside the campaign main goal? He is a wizard that thinks his ability to cast spells can be connected to the deities powers.  If he can only research how to unlock the limited powers that wizards have, perhaps he could become a god.  Dealing with a life of being mocked by other wizards, and having a poor background, he is determined as this is his life goal.

Is your character one to go it alone or work with others?  Works with others, as he feels it's the only way he will get help to learn information about the world.

What are your expectations of this experience?  To have fun, RP, and kill a few things.

Would you rather be a DM or a Player?  Player, but I have DMed back in the 2nd edition days.

Hey! Very interested in this! I am a new player, never played before, so I don't have a pre-built character and would be happy to workshop one which best fits the interests of the group in terms of class or whichever I would have the most fun with, so my details below will include generally what I would want to try.

Basic details: A tiefling barbarian or monk, chaotic neutral

Motivations: No clue! Class-wise, her rage (if a barbarian) would come from the death of her adoptive Genasi father, who was killed by a mob for (as far as she knows) just practicing his magic as a living being. They tried to kill her as well but couldn't find her since she was out, and she feels tremendous guilt for not being there to protect him. Probably similar background if she was a monk. Mostly motivated by knowing she's the only one alive who cares about the death of this Genasi man who cared for her, and takes out her anger/rage willy nilly in her sole goal of survival in a world which she has deemed only capable of cruelty.

Go it alone or work with others: She's one to mostly go it alone, since she really only trusts herself. She'll work with others in a temporary capacity if it suits her goals or job at the time, but usually quickly leaves once she's satisfied with the information she's received. When working with others she's sometimes obstinate or stubborn, but never pushes it further than arguing unless they hit first.

Expectations: To learn more about how to play the game and ultimately have fun! I think I'd enjoy a 50/50 or 60/40 split of RP and combat just so I do get the mechanics of both, and generally feel like a badass.

My schedule fluxuates a bit but I'm pretty flexible! I'm in PST so I'd prefer to have sessions around 10am-12pm my time, meaning 12pm-2pm EST, but I'm open to discussion!

What are your character's goals beside the campaign main goal? (A short background would be cash money) Rogue: Making enough money to return to Neverwinter and bail out his Mother. Cleric: Create a temple to Bahamut in Phandalin.

Is your character one to go it alone or work with others? Rogue: Prefers to work alone, but won't hesitate to stand behind someone else when danger comes along. Cleric: Loves working with others, so long as their clean and preferably not blood soaked.

What are your expectations of this experience? Good times with new friends :)

What are the basic details of the character you want to play? (e.g. race, class, alignment, etc.) I created three because I am new (a Water Ganasi Cleric, Elf, and a Half-Orc Barbarian) but somewhat familiar with DND and how it works, could make one more suitable if need be. I would probably play as Acheryn, a level one Eladrin (Variant), Rogue, with a criminal/spy background. Not well-liked but very stealthy and high acrobatics.

What are your character's goals beside the campaign main goal? Trying to repay an unnamed benefactor to which I am heavily indebted, and do not like to talk about.

Is your character one to go it alone or work with others? I do not trust quickly, but give my comrades the benefit of the doubt. I despise the wealthy and the hold they have on civilians, working with a noble would be a challenge indeed, however, that doesn't mean I won't tag along for whatever treasures may lie ahead. Although I prefer solitude, I am loyal to my people, not to any ideals or religion, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care.

What are your expectations of this experience?

As my character: I am here for a mission with the goal in sight, not to chum it up with adventurers - or god forbid - noblemen. I won't steal from my team or run for a fight, but I am not your friend either.

As me: To learn and grow, find my flow as a player.

What are the basic details of the character you want to play? 102 year-old Male Deep Gnome, Sage researcher, Wizard - Illusion school, neutral alignment. 

What are your character's goals beside the campaign main goal? Yggnatius Deeprock left the underdark as a youth and studied in the best schools of magic all his life. He is particularly adept at illusion magic. His greatest hope is to be among the first to find a new discovery and study it.

Is your character one to go it alone or work with others? He works with others, though he is awkward in social situations. He can be very blunt with people and loses patience with those he thinks are not as intelligent. But he is always quick to apologize if he sees that he has offended.

What are your expectations of this experience? I'm just looking for fun roleplay and a good group of accepting and tolerant people to play with.

Would you rather be a DM or a Player? I will be DMing my first game this week, so I can't speak to that, but so far I have loved playing.

Thanks to everyone that have applied :D the response was huge. 

These are some amazing characters, but I can't run them all and it has made this a very tough decision. I might even consider running a second group as a result, but we'll see how we go ;)
