Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Prefer in-person, but online would also be good. Experience: Newbie, but I've watched a lot of CR and am relatively familiar with a lot of the basic mechanics thanks to DnDBeyond and CR. Location/Timezone: Heidelberg, Germany CET Availability: Every evening starting at about 6pm. Preferred role: Player (newbie) Game style: I would really love to dive into a long-term roleplaying campaign, but I'd be down for casual one-shots if that is what presents itself.
Extraneous Information: I am a native English speaker, but speak C2+ level German, so playing a campaign in German is conceivable, and might lead to some funny RP, but I would prefer English.
My situation is pretty much the same as yours, im also a newbie and want to play DnD in Heidelberg. Do you know more people who want to try it out? A group full of newbies spells disaster but it could also be fun.
Quick question, are you a native English speaker or would you be more comfortable playing in German? I have a few friends here who are interested in TTRPGs but have only ever played DSA. I may consider attempting to convince them to give DnD a try. With you, that would be at least 4 of us, potentially 5. Unfortunately, they're kind of strapped for time, so we haven't even had a chance to sit down and play DSA despite planning on doing it for months already lol
English is my second language and german my mother tongue, but I think my English is good enough for DnD as for DSA, i have no idea what exactly that is but that's what Google is for xD.
I realise this discussion is a bit older at this point but I’m about to move to Heidelberg and I would love to run a campaign (as a DM) in English. I’ve played DnD for a few years now and have a little experience running one-shots so running a campaign for newbies would be great!
Are you still looking for players/ a DM?
