Your journey begins as you are sent from the Holy City of Elturel to take down a group of Dragon Cultists in the Elturguard Woods. However, what awaits you as you come back is beyond your wildest nightmares. Finding yourselves amongst a stream of refugees headed for Baldur's Gate, it falls to you to find out what has happened. This is bound to take you on an extremely dangerous quest, down to hell itself.

In this adventure, you will face the perils of Avernus, the First Layer of the Nine Hells, as you attempt to save the fallen city of Elturel from eternal damnation. The Blood War, the apocalyptic struggle between Demons and Devils, is raging all around you and you will have to make some tough decisions on your quest. Will you ally yourselves with devils, through your lot in with some demon lord, or perhaps even invoke the terrible powers of Tiamat, the Queen of Dragons? The choice is yours!
