My partner and I (aged 32, 30) are looking for an online D&D group to join as players. We’re relatively new to D&D, but have played through one 4-session campaign and a handful of one-evening intro sessions.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New-ish Location/Timezone: Southeast UK / GMT Availability: evenings, weekends, and friday afternoons. Preferred role: Players Game style: leaning towards roleplay and adventure rather than combat.
We wanted to return to D&D for a long time, but haven't found any local groups with new campaigns, excited to try it online :)
I'm in Kent, looking for a game too. My wife also plays too, and her brother (in Surrey) has expressed interest, all of us in our thirties, but getting all three of us may be tricky . Looking round these forums and the discord servers it seems everyone wants to be players but no-one wants to be DM. It occurred to me that a possible answer is to rotate the duties. Would you be up to DMing on a rotation basis? Best times for me are Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm (8pm ideal). I can also do the middle two Thursdays of the month.
If you are open to this please PM me to arrange a session zero.
Hi I live in Devon and am looking for a group from scratch. I can do most Sunday evenings, and maybe one other evening in the week. I am in my 50s and have a lot of experience as a Dm but not online. So may be a bit rusty with the mechanic's. I would run Wildemount, starting in the Dwendalian empire. Let me know if any of this sounds good. It looks like there are 3 possible; I think 4 would be ideal.
I have a free roll20 account and have been tinkering with it, but all my purchased content is on DnD Beyond. I'd recommend Chrome's beyond20 plug-in and using dndbeyond for main character management.
At the very least, a session zero this weekend would be welcome. Are you looking to DM full-time or to rotate as I mentioned above?
Hi! I’m 25 from Ireland - and I’m stuck in a rut, making my way towards becoming a “forever-DM”. If you have room for one more player, I would really appreciate an invite!
I have over 2 years experience with D&D, most of it being online (roll20).
Would you like to join a discord server for dnd, we have multiple games a day were kind, friendly and accept anyone even if they are new to dnd and roll 20 or experienced. Feel free to pm me
Simon: If you want to DM the game, that would be perfect! My partner and I both have a lot of experience working remotely, so we can definitely help you figure out how to do the communication & stuff properly, although there may be good online guides. Looks like Silbecker can help with that as well.
Sibecker: That's cool, It might be a bit much with your wife's brother, but otherwise it would be great to have you, especially with your online experience
rairai: That depends a bit if Simon is fine with having 5 players; if so, than you're definitely welcome to join us.
battboi27: it might be better for you to find a group that's closer to your age, sorry. I'm not sure it would be great for group dynamics if there's such an age difference.
We haven't really looked into roll20 yet, so we will do that. A lot of people seem to use Discord around here, so maybe it makes sense to start with that? (although we'd also be up for a Telegram group). We can create a channel/chat and coordinate on that. What's your preferred method?
Oh yeah, and sunday would work for us for a session 0 :)
Question is the who do we have. I would suggest a maximum of 5 players in total.
My wife says she probably can't make it since we have young children. So it looks like we have myself, two from SpacyForestPal and rairai makes a fourth. If you want a 5th player then I can ask my brother-in-law, but frankly finding players is not hard at the moment!
As for my online experience, I can sum up both weeks of it :)
Roll20 is for shared in-play visualisation of maps, character icons etc. while discord is a text and voice chat server, so they get used in concert rather than choosing just one over the other. While Roll20 does have an online character sheet system, it's not a patch on DnDBeyond (in particular it doesn't support multiclassing very well) - but the Beyond20 plugin for Google Chrome helps to compensate for that.
might be a bit late on the subject as it seems you have your share of players already, but just wanted to throw my name in the pot as well should a slot open up.
33 of age, living in Ireland, and it's just so bloody hard to find players these days ... I have no experience with roll20 (but do have an account), have discord and DnDBeyond (character is ready). Am willing to video as well (just seems better as to get into the roleplaying mood)
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New-ish Location/Timezone: GMT (Ireland Availability: evenings, weekends Preferred role: Player (though I have DMed once in the past) Game style: roleplay and adventure with a hint of combat
I play a human druid (outlander, chaotic neutral alignment, though the latter can be adapted depending on the group dynamic) named Rag.
I also have the DM guide, player handbook, monster manual, and the dragon of icespire peak adventure book should that become of interest.
Thank you for your read, and I wish you the best of times with the group should you have enough players ;)

I have set up a new campaign and am sending you the link
https://ddb.ac/campaigns/join/10936761443797546
My usual dice rolling convention is 4d6 take the lowest away 6 times.
I'd like to use the hero Chronicle for backgrounds. Wildemount has it's own one but there is a Sword Coast example in the articles in dnd beyond
P.s I have enabled content also so you can see the Wildmount sourcebook
