New player looking for help and friends

Hi I am a new player to DnD. I have seen Critcal Role and became absolutely entrilled. 

I'll be honest I have a character but have no idea if it's any good and could really do with a helping hand. Also lots of posts mention discord...I have it but don't particularly know how to link or really use it haha.

I am 29 almost 30 so please 18+.

Game: D&D 5e

Group preferred: Online or Face-to-face

Experience: New to D&D. I have some experience with MMORPG's online games and action/adventure online games.

Location/Timezone: United Kingdom, Plymouth.

Availability: As I work Shifts that can change I am free evenings from 7pm - 11pm. I could also possibly be available on weekends, again dependent on my work schedule. 

Preferred role: Player.

Game style: casual, roleplay, adventure. Moderate combat
