Lost Role Player looking for new home

First off, I have been a long time player of an online D&D RP only MUD (multi user dungeon) I know how to RP, and I understand most functions of D&D like class/skills etc... What I am not super familiar with is editions and the table top version. I have only played 3 D&D sessions in my life. The first was a very long time ago and the person running it didn't really know what to do, and there were only a couple of us playing. Later, about 5 years ago, I got the privilege to play with someone who was an amazing DM. He had everything needed to enhance the environment. This game was played in person with co-workers, some of who had never played before, and after the end of the first session, the entire group was stoked to return to the next game. Unfortunately, I was laid off and forced to move so I only got to experience 2 sessions with this guy. Anyway, here I am 5 years later hoping to find a group to play with. I want to highlight some of what I can bring to a game, and some of the things I am looking for. Hope to hear from someone soon!
