The Long Death of Belladyn
For a time, the kingdom of Belladyn was the dominating superpower in the southern half of the continent of Vaeclath (Vay-Clath). Having grown from a small trading town to a massive kingdom that was able to wage wars of expansion across almost all its borders in the course of little more than a century. But at the peak of the kingdom's continental wide invasion, something unexplainable happened on a night in the middle of the cooling months in the year 1215 A.C. (After Cataclysm). Over the course of a single night, every single civilized humanoid within the kingdom's borders died with no rational cause, simply dropping dead where they stood. No answers could be immediately found about the cause of this sudden mass death, for any time an expedition or force of soldiers made its way into the kingdom to investigate, they would die before even a day had passed in within the kingdom, more victims to what became known to the rest of the world as “the Long Death of Belladyn''.
For over 50 years the kingdom of Belladyn became a dead zone in the middle of the Southern Vaeclath, mercilessly killing any who attempted to cross the kingdom's border or discover it’s secrets. Over time the other nations bordering the kingdom began to forget about Belladyn, or at least not have it always be at the forefront of national worries. But at various points 54 years later during the year 1269 A.C., various people from the surrounding nations would accidentally stumble into Belladyn’s old borders and wouldn’t die after several hours, the Long Death having seemingly ended. This news rapidly spread wide and the surrounding nations all came to the same conclusion. The old kingdom of Belladyn, the former jewel of the south once said to have held close to 70% of southern Vaeclath’s wealth within its borders, was available for the taking.
The neighboring powers would soon discover that expansion to Belladyn would be no easy task. Over the course of 50 years, the lands and forests of Belladyn had grown at a rate of almost 300 years. Overgrowing many of Belladyn’s smaller settlements and roadways, dramatically shifting the landscape rendering most old maps useless. The local wildlife in Belladyn had also changed, with many animals and beasts growing larger, more resilient, and aggressive. Only Belladyn’s major cities and the old main roads remained mostly untouched by the overrun nature. However due to the sheer volume of people dying on the roads and in the cities, these locations have become hotspots for diseases, undead creatures, and necrotic energy making these locations and roads near uninhabitable. Even with all these threats and problems within Belladyn’s borders, most of the surrounding nations have other national emergencies, obligations and wars on their plates which prevent them from focusing most of their efforts and manpower into expanding into Belladyn.
4 years have passed since the nations of the south have begun to expand into the Ruins of Belladyn, each with their own goals and motivations. Belladyn is full of ruins to uncover, treasures to find, and mysteries to answer. It is a land full of danger and rewards, and the question is, do you have what it takes to not become one of Belladyn’s latest victims…
Welcome to the Ruins of Belladyn.
Hello people, I am looking for 1-2 players interested in joining an established adventuring group in exploring overgrown ruins in a long dead kingdom filled with undead, dangerous plants and wildlife, and factions/cults with dark intentions. The party is currently level 8 with a small keep that they are repairing that is home to a few backup characters and allies they have made and picked up. Their current mission will be leading them to venture into the ruins of one of the greater settlements of the Kingdom of Belladyn for a few quests and personal missions. This is the deadliest location the party will be exploring so far in the setting and will need more allies if they hope to survive.
We are looking for players who like character driven stories, loves planning elaborate plots, have no problems when sessions are just RP (we've literally have had an impromptu beach episode session at one point which was a blast), and are able to work well with a group of other players and not be a glory hog. We have been playing for about a year and a half so we are ideally looking for long terms players, but can still make a short term player work. Some additional details about the setting and surrounding regions, like nations, races, factions and cultures, can be found in the following google doc, or feel free to ask in the comments about anything else that might not be in there. Will be conducting interviews a few days after posting to find the right person or two for the game.
If interested please leave a post or private DM with the following questions answered.

Heyo, Id like to join you're group if you'd have me.
Age/Name/Pronouns: Noah, 19, he/him
A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I'm a college student who enlisted with the army at 17 so I wouldn't be in debt for the next 20 years. I enjoy skating, old games and indie games, and working out to an excessive degree, and dnd of course.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I've been playing since basic training when I was first introduced funnily enough. and I most enjoy the interactions between players both as a player and dm.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: I don't enjoy sessions with a total lack of direction, as in a sandbox where the dm just tells you to go do something. It's happened to me before and it sucks, because there is no incentive to interact with the party or npcs, unless I find/make one, which are my favorite parts.
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): A character I've been dying to play actually is a lamp, who through some devious and mystical means gained sentience, and was magically polymorphed (I'm not sure if that's the right term here) into a human or elf or whatever. and thus is on a journey to discover the meaning of his own existence and kill his creator for abandoning him in this world alone and confused.

Hey I am 29, my name is Michael. He/himI have been playing dnd off and on for about 8 years. I would like to join your campaign as it looks very interesting and the time works out great for me.
I like the roleplaying and trying to figure way out of situations and seeing what kinda our interesting things we can get ourselves into
I was a rouge and when someone would upset my character or tried to trick him he would set something if theirs on fire before leaving
A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I really enjoy a lot of dark fantasy but am content with many other forms of fantasy. I love puzzles and other things that make me use my brain. I love to write and play a lot of fantasy games in which I draw upon inspiration when writing.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I have been playing DnD 5E off and on for about 5-6 years, and my favorite thing about dnd is the role-playing and combat encounters. As well as different puzzles.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: I don't really have anything that I can think of off the top of my head that I wouldn't like other than plain negativity without purpose.
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): I don't really have any weird concepts but a concept I would love to play is a circle of stars druid who was raised in royalty and now is looking for an adventure away form their home where no one really knows them as they hated the attention that they got for being royal.

A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: digimon nerd, loves to make characters and tons of backstories
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: lore and character development, adore watching people change as their characters and grow
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: minmaxing, making overpowered characters just to be overpowered not even as a joke just to be like center star
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): a teifling bard, who hated being touched by people he doesn't know but has urges so he always looks upset after doing anything dirty but just sounds super flirty, never got to play him but he had a deep and troubling past he never got to healthily grow past so now it effects him in his downtime sort of life

D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I used to play 3.5 years ago and took a break and have been playing 5e for almost 2 years. I love being immersed and not breaking the 4th wall.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: Combat that last for whole sessions or hours, unnecessary rolling
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): I've always wanted to play a character based off of Roland from The Dark Tower book series.

A little bit about yourself and some of your interest -- So I have of recently discovered D&D mainly thanks to Critical Role, I work in Hospitality in the UK, also incase it matters, I am a gay man, who honestly unintentionally ends up with my characters either being Gay or Bisexual more interesting into men.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game -- I have some small experience playing D&D, played a few games on Roll20, and enjoyed creating characters in DnD Beyond. What I enjoy the most in D&D is the how each characters has a part of the Story that means something to them, and appearing in unique and unexpected ways, the freedom of decisions and the Role Play, the interaction between different NPC's and the Interaction between players.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game -- feeling like the group are being railroaded to hit plot points, also feeling like we are trying to be TPKed.
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance -- So the character I play isn't to strange, at least at the moment in my story, he is a Fairy who is Aberrant Mind Sorcerer & Tempest Domain Cleric, who was the basically Royalty Heir of the FeyWilds.
I have two characters that I have ideas of, 1st is a Circle of the Moon Druid, race either Satyr or Aasimar, Background Far Traveler. He has 2 older siblings, the middle siblings is a Serial Killer, wanting his name to be remembered forever, the older brother taking it as his mission to end his brothers savagery, then you who both siblings want you to help them.
2nd is a multiclass Storm Sorcery and Tempest Domain Cleric, Race either Aasimar, Mark of the Storm Half Elf, or Fairy. Background Haunted One. At something around his 12th birthday, he is stolen to be involved in a dark ritual. He becomes possessed by a Fiend, and spends his whole life having this Fiend in him. ( the idea of this is based on the Shadow King possession of Storm) I like the idea of a Fiend on one shoulder and his God on the other.
My interests and about myself: I like watching videos, Disney movies (which is basically all of them at this point), and of course D&D. I like to make characters in my free time. I want to be a PEN Tester for a living and I like to learn Martial Arts like Krav Maga.
My D&D Experience and what I like/don't like in a game: I've played D&D a lot before, I like lots of RP in a D&D game. I don't like Railroading or cringey players/DMs.
Weird Character Idea: I don't have a weird character idea, but I do have an awesome character idea that I've wanted to play for a while now.
Kralthizar the Human Ninja. He used to be a dishonored warrior that was turned Shinobi by being taken in by a mysterious ninja clan.
Hope you consider me. My Discord is Kralthizar#6727
Hello! This campaign seems to have exactly what I'm looking for! I'd love to join if allowed.
Age/Name/Pronouns:
I'm Venny! I recently turned 17 and I go by She/Her.
A little bit about yourself and some of your interest:
I'm a senior high student that has too much free time on my hands for the summer, and figured I'd love to spend it properly looking and playing in a long term campaign. I've been doing novella/literate text-based roleplays for about three years now. I love reading! And writing - though I can never get around to completing stories, and I guess I also like a little but of horror and mystery.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game:
I started D&D only a month ago, but I've been wanting to play since, at most, a year. I've been a player in a handful of oneshots e.g. Candlekeep Mysteries, a Custom Dungeon during an introduction class to D&D, and two one-page games.
In-game, I think I enjoy character interactions most. Since I've only been in oneshots, I never really got to any real character development, but I think giving my character meaningful relationships and identity-impacting(?) choices would be a lot of fun, hence why I was looking for a long-term campaign. Aside from that, I also enjoy a decent amount of combat, and tend to be innovative when I engage, judging from my experience playing a rogue.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game:
I definitely think that arguments between players/characters is unavoidable; But in my one month of experience, I think I only dislike the feuds when they keep going around in circles and end up consuming almost 45 minutes just standing there yelling and speaking over each other and with no sign of compromise ever to come. So far, it's only ever happened once, but it really soured the whole experience for me.
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance:
There's this stoic half-elf cleric of Oghma I played during a oneshot! She has an irrational fear of cats, and an overwhelming love for books. But spoiler alert, there were A LOT of cats, and A LOT of evil bloodthirsty books. In a span of two sessions, she managed to convince the party's elephant hybrid fighter that cats are evil (they weren't) and burn the only friends she's known all her life (books).
Discord ID/preferred way to get in touch:
I prefer discord! My ID is Venny#0114
I'm free on the scheduled time in this post for the summer, but I think it would be a little difficult once school starts up again. Although, this may change depending on the schedule we're given, but other than that, thank you for the opportunity!
A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I enjoy gaming (both online and tabletop), writing, acting, and singing
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I've been for about 2 years now. I love seeing characters come alive, I love seeing them change from being just an idea in someone's head to being something recognizable. I also love experiencing new worlds and getting immersed in them.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: Lack of player agency/railroading
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): I'll be playing this character in a one shot in a few days. Basically, he was raised in a satanic cult and was super sheltered so he has no idea that the wider world see him and his people as evil. He is on a journey to recover "sacred artifacts" and is very confused when people don't want to help in his "holy" quest

A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I’m a Canadian living in the US, have lots of free time. I love animals, documentaries, music festivals and gaming! Pretty good mix of introverted and extroverted. Literally the nicest person you will ever meet.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I have about 50 hours of DND in. I love a good mix of RP, humour, and combat, but I especially love becoming close with the group and everyone becoming friends / like a family 🖤🥹
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: straight combat sessions
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): I’ve really wanted to play some kinda wear wolf

Hi! It seems like I'm a bit late to this thread, but if you still need a player I'd love to chat more.
23, Gabriel, he/him
Besides TTRPGs, I like rock music, fashion, video games, coffee, and spending time with my wife and friends.
I've been playing D&D 5e for several years, and also have some experience with 3.5e. Although I like optimizing characters, I particularly enjoy roleplay and diving into the lore of a setting.
I don't like when one player (or the DM!) tries to make the game all about themselves. To me, D&D is all about collaborative creativity and storytelling. I also don't like how a lot of D&D players don't mind racism or oversexualizing women in their games. (Or in general lol)
A wacky character concept who I would like to play at some point is a Kuo-toa warlock whose patron is their childhood imaginary friend. Or at least, they used to be imaginary.
A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I am a homebody so I like staying indoors playing and watching video games. I'm pretty free flowing so I don't really have much dislikes I'm usually down for anything as long as I'm not alone.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I am very new to D&D; I've only played one session with my friends but from what we have played so far, I would say that I really enjoy the storytelling and banter aspect of D&D. By 'banter aspect', I mean moment in session where we a moment to collect our thoughts and game plan before we start battle.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: I'm still new to D&D so I'm not sure what I dislike yet...
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time): I don't really have a wacky character but I do have two characters already made that I wouldn't mind playing; a half elf sorcerer that survived slavery under Minotaurs that now works at an apothecary to both provide and ease the pain of his crippled older brother. I also have a human druid that is the sole survivor of a Orc raiding party that pillaged his village, he was able to survive due to a She-Orc pitying him and his family. After being hidden under a hollow tree, a group of 'The Children of Gaia' stumbled upon him and took him in as his own.

A little bit about yourself and some of your interest: I'm a nerd. i work in a pharmacy. I play oodles of games sicne i was two, from console to pc. I've played DnD since advanced DnD up to current. I breathe fantasy as this world sucks.
D&D/tabletop experience and what you enjoy most in the game: I enjoy seeing what people, including myself, can come up with whether it means characters or any form of world building. i also enjoy gambling so the dice are nice to see too bahah.
Things you don't enjoy in a D&D session/would rather not see in game: Any form of like hardcore violence such as ****, sodomy and the like.
Describe a weird character concept you have gotten to play before or wanted to but never got the chance (Example, a steward for an eldritch library who hunts down people who haven't returned their books back on time):I once played a loyal Dragonborn pally who refused to use his breath weapon to show restrain over his animal side. BUUUUT he purposely had an 8 in constitution and i'd roll every now and then to chance a sneeze aka his breath weapon during combat.
