In a dangerous world, the strong are said to prey upon the weak. Among the strong, those who are feared most are the elite, those who thrive in combat, and flourish in life-and-death situations. In time, powerful mercenary organizations came to dominate the battlefields, ushering in an era of controlled warfare; the age of the Mercenary.

In this age, prodigies are sought from early ages to be molded into powerful warriors, and skilled spies. Efficient killers, and trusted protectors. True mercenaries. None are said to be able to stand before their might.

And it is here you find yourself, on your sixteenth birthday, ready to join the ranks of these most legendary warriors. You are the mightiest in your home village, and have earned the right to stand here now, shoulder to shoulder with the select few others who will earn the right to call themselves mercenaries.
