The following are not demands or anything of the sort, of course, but simple requests. These are things we'd generally discuss together at some point anyway, so we figured we'd be upfront about them from the start, just to save everyone some time! :^)
Character/Plot-driven We want to explore our own characters as well as the NPCs and story Barovia has to offer
Please do not replace major NPCs with OCs OCs and creative liberties are not entirely discouraged, but we would like to experience the module rather than have it replaced entirely by homebrew elements
Roleplay > Combat While combat is still wanted, we would like events that allow our team to interact with each other and the environment more than battle after battle after battle… We would also like to smell the roses–so to say–and take time exploring the game, its plot(s) and Barovia
No Permanent Death Curse of Strahd is a hard module and we want a taste of that challenge, but not at the risk of constant character re-rollings. Death should still be a threat but not the end-all-be-all
Desire and Passion to Creatively Work with Player Character and their Stories Each character has a fun background and depth to them with plenty of factors that can be utilized for story weaving. We’d love to see what you can create with it as well as engage with us about such factors
Looking to Play as a Friend, Not as an Associate We’d like to meet and play with someone who meshes with us so fun can be found both in and out of game! We’d appreciate someone who is willing to communicate, even (and perhaps especially) if it’s something difficult, such as tension in the group or hurt feelings.
LGBTQ/POC Friendly and Comfortable Both players and characters fall under the LGBTQ banner
Female DM preferred
Consistent Schedule Weekends preferred. Have both EST and PST members and are willing to work for a time that works for both players and DM Please be organized/have games planned out
DM Experience preferred (Especially with the CoS module) While never finishing the game yet, we have a fondness for Curse of Strahd and would love to play with someone who loves it just as equally
Originally out on a Grand Tour, the illegitimate and frivolous nobleman Saverio has lost his beloved fighting instructor and chaperone to unknown causes, leaving the young half-elf stranded far from the comforts and luxury of his home. Running low on funds and refusing to report to his father in fear of this being labeled a failure on his part, the nobleman has taken it upon himself in the last month to aimlessly search for his missing mentor, enjoying the freedom such circumstances have brought and hoping to prove his capabilities in an ever optimistic—if not naive—stride down the misty roads ahead of him...
Kázmér Lafonna Elf Warlock—Pact with a Great Old One
Raised within a questionable and secluded congregation, Kaz was raised by his father’s authoritative hand, leaving him ignorant to the world beyond his cult’s influence. With his life crafted by his father’s wishes, the young elf followed his leader’s will with complete obedience. Recently though, with little to no reason given, Kaz finds himself recently exiled by the man he once revered, left without his familiar guidance. With only the road ahead and the development of a strange otherworldly presence growing in his mind, Kaz wanders to find a start to his new life..****y for his destination to be decided for him in the mists...
Magni Swiftsmith Brynjarr-Trygg Goliath Cleric—Forge Domain
His tribe thought his art a waste of time and materials. Magni thought them single-minded philistines. Sick of smithing for a tribe who would never understand him, Magni Swiftsmith Brynjarr-Trygg packed up and followed the sun. At a nearby dwarven city, he expanded his craft, adopted the dwarves' faith in Moradin, and, insatiable for further knowledge, wandered further and farther, learning ever more about the forge. One day, he set his eyes on Neverwinter. It boasted of its unparalleled craftsmanship. Intrigued as ever, Magni packed up and, once again, started following the sun...
