I am Dawn, Your new dungeon master, strangers or old friends. Here is a quick overview of the campaign with about everything you need to know. For players who I've had in the past and are wondering about the number of characters per person, that depends on how many people we get. And depending on how many people we have, I may or may not have characters. This campaign, I won't be an idiot and delete all this information a week or two before someone drops out and we get a new player.
This is going to be a combat-heavy campaign.
You are adventurers of the nation of Tyral, a (mostly) human port kingdom known for trade and diplomacy. You have formed a party and gone about a few adventures, occasionally crossing over the border to explore the mines of Silverspark, a neighboring dwarven nation. You have some renown as adventures and are well known in your home towns. You were between quests, resting at a small castle awarded you by a nobleman you saved. You heard rumors of a political marriage between the human Princess Oria and the dwarven Prince Kurov. You paid it no mind s it didn't really affect you. Then you started hearing nasty rumors about SIlverspark, such as their weapons were fake or the dwarf men's beards were glued on with horsehair. you notice discrimination against dwarves in your town. Any dwarf characters also notice that market prices have gone up for them whenever they go shopping, and for economical reliability, you find it wisest to send out a human or elf friend to do your shopping(so much for making that present you were getting them a surprise!). Then you hear something that catches your adventurer's ears: war is brewing, and in this place, wars are conducted by adventuring parties(less dead people, less cost, better all-around). You check in to volunteer, as winners of such contests are awarded great sums of money, fame, and occasionally magical items. You check in to see if you're eligible.
This is where our story picks up. We hopefully won't need a session zero, as theoretically you've all met with me to discuss your characters. We need 6 characters of level 5. I can fill in any characters missing or one of you can take on a second character. My introduction is at the bottom.
Please make a specific time to go over your character with me.
Ideal Classes(please check this list before making your characters. talk to me if you want to do something else, considering the format this grouping is advisable but not mandatory. not trying to be authoritarian, trying to be a good DM and give you a chance to survive):
2 Spellcasters(Sorcerers/Wizards)- 2
2 Tanks(Paladins/Fighters/Barbarians)- 1
1 Healer(Bard/Cleric/Druid)- 1
Optional- Distance fighter(Ranger) or Tank- 1
If you want your character to be from Silverspark- groovy! Totally talk to me and we can work out your motivation, conflict, and loyalties. thoughts to have in mind if you do such a character(which would have been reasonable before the war, but is now facing conflict and persecution): Why does your character want to join the tournament for Tyran(for example: you had a fall out with an official in your home land; you are deeply in love with a Tyranian; you swore to stand by your fellow adventures)? How does loyalty(or hatred) of your homeland influence your decision? With which side does your sympathy lay? How does the xenophobic hatred of you influence you? Would you rather go back home?
Note: Tyran characters gain a natural bonus to charisma. Silverspark characters are proficient with smiths tools.
As always, this is a clean campaign: remain appropriate at all times, no swearing, respect mental health, avoid triggers(if you are uncomfortable with something, simply go to the chat and enter the capital letter X. No judgment, no questions asked, the topic will change.), and will be done on google meet, the link is at the bottom of the page. we meet on Saturdays from __-__. You may or may not have your camera on, depending on what you feel comfortable with. No evil-aligned characters unless your alignment becomes non-consensually changed. If you have triggers that you feel comfortable sharing, you can private message EchoFrost (me), to go ver what I should avoid and see if this campaign is right for you. I swear I won't judge, I have trauma-based triggers too. A brief overview of possible triggers:
-Gladiator style battles and tournaments
-Racism and Xenophobia
And of course, the dumber the barbarian, the better.
My name is Dawn. I am a high school student with too many campaign ideas and too short of Saturdays. I love school, animals, and writing. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm (proudly) autistic. I have 2 cats(not counting my mom's cat who I feed); Onyx and Krystian. I also have 2 rabbits, but one of them is insanely shy and one of them is unaware of her claws and has accidentally given me scars. I have 1 dog, Rider. And my goose, April(when you hear screaming in the background, its either Krystian, April, or my brother). my computer's microphone doesn't work so I have to use another one. i lose my train of thought easy. I dig grammar. as of writing this, by autistic speacil interest is the Monkees(a band/tv show from the 60s). I could talk your ear off about the monkees, but i try not to. I also draw my dnd characters, but without faces because that's a stone drag and i don't feel like it. my favorite dnd character at the moment is a traumatized eladrin elf wizard named Andri. i don't know why, but i think his emo-ness(and trauma) is adorable. he is my brain-child(he's also like 10x older than me, but he's an elf), though i do feel bad about having to kill my 8 yr old tiefling druid because i was also the dm and i couldn't let the players off that bossfight without at least 1 death(don't worry, probably only half of you will die). I'm rambling and must depart. farewell!
