A veteran GM looking to expand into a new IRL group, I am looking for players to join in on a long term campaign likely taking place in one of the local gamestores (my house is poorly suited for it).
As stated in the title, I was hoping for this to take place on Tuesdays or Saturdays but I am otherwise completely flexible on the exact time and session length.
I am looking for 5 players to brave the gruelling trek north and uncover the mysteries of what is happening up there. This game will be a complete mix of combat, RP, investigations and puzzles. These players must be inventive, inquisitive and willing to get invested in both the game and their fellow PCs. Of course you must also be respectful, accepting and an adult but if you meet those truly harrowing requirements, people of all creeds, ages and experience levels are accepted be you a fresh faced greenhorn looking to gain glory in your first adventure or a grizzled veteran of a dozen campaigns.
I myself am a 22 year old long time GM who's coming up to 12 years of this stuff and while you'd think that'd make me an expert I am most certainly not. I cannot promise you perfection but I can promise you the best I've got.
For a basic explainer for the game, here's the following synopsis:
Heavy footsteps tread down cobble streets, a flickering flame clung to by a wavering spirit claws its way into the darkness as if to offer some protection from the horrors within it. The guard sighs, nocking the haft of his spear into the crease of his elbow as he wipes away the crumbs of his dinner from his poorly shaved stubble, his other hand occupied with the lantern, his last mistake. In just a moment the darkness encircles him, spear clatters to the ground and soon his blood follows, splashing down in a crimson torrent so quickly he never had a chance to scream. Another light extinguished, another long shadow cast upon the land.
Lusivakia is a dangerous place where one does not stray from civilization if one values their life. Beasts haunt man, monsters haunt the beasts and the Neath haunt all three, chasing wolves to their den, dragons to their lair and man to his city walls. To travel beyond the monolithic masonry is to threaten your own mortality but somebody has to do it, no one can survive rooted to one place.
Only the suicidal travel alone and only fools travel in few numbers, caravans are the safest way to cross the land be they a few dozen or a few hundred strong, each member joining for their own reasons and departing at their own ends. You are members of one such caravan, setting out from the City of Io'Nleath and travelling the Red Mithril road as north as it will go, to the frosty peaks of Vanisfarn. The journey is measured in months but the value in platinum, even if you aren't part of the Mithril Trade, travelling the roads is a dangerous life and thusly a lucrative one be you merchant, sellsword, courier or travelling troupe.
If this interests you and you can make either of the days, be sure to private message me on Discord at Blucrocoduck#0390. You don't need to have a character idea but a bit about you and what you're hoping to get out of the game would be appreciated. Also Discord will be needed as I plan to use a Discord Server as a way to post important info and generally manage the game/group.
