In an ancient ruin beneath the Demon Wastes, a band of heroes races to claim the Reaper’s Heart. If the agents of the Emerald Claw reach it first, they’ll reignite the Last War and unleash an army of undead.
In the city of Sharn, a team of spies pulls off an impossible scheme—breaking into the impenetrable vaults of House Kundarak. But instead of gold, they find a secret that could shatter the fragile peace between the nations.
Aboard an airship, a wizard debates the interpretation of an ancient prophecy with a blood-red dragon. If the sage loses the argument, the dragon will destroy the airship and everyone on it. But if she wins the debate, the dragon will take them to distant Argonnessen, and no human has ever seen the land of dragons and returned!
Hey everyone!
I am looking for three players to join an Eberron campaign that will be starting on the 18th of August and will run every Thursday. It is set in the world of Eberron four years after "The Last War", which concluded with an arcane burst destroying the great nation of Cyre in an event called the Mourning. Eberron is still recovering from the last war and the destruction of Cyre, Warforged roam the world now unsure of their purpose having been created to know only war, common people struggle in the dark depths of the lower city whilst above them in the golden Sky Way the aristocratic Dragon Marked houses thrive, and who - or what - caused the Mourning is still unknown. This world is very high magic with a relatively high level of technology.
In session 0 we shall create a group patron who will be a member of a large faction and will have brought the party together, once the group have all decided upon and created the patron I shall give you all your starting quest hook based on what you have created. Adventures in Eberron can range from huge naval style battles between sky ships high above cities, to noir detective style investigations of the seedy crime world in the bottom of Sharn, or even a good old fashioned wild west train heist - but instead of horses you'll ride dinosaurs, land speeders or arcane windsurfers, and the steam train is now the elemental powered Lightning rail!
I ask that players can commit to all sessions, which will be ran weekly on Thursdays, 7PM BST, with our session zero being on 18/08/22, and are 18+ (I am 24, with the two current members being 32 and 36). The game will be fairly RP heavy, about 70/30 RP/Combat, so I'm looking for players who are enjoy that.
Answers to FAQS - Starting at level one. It will be ran on Discord and Roll20. As a DM I prioritise story over exact rulings, but won't break the rules constantly. I have been DMing for a year now, and have known the current two players since late last year. I ask that your characters would actively be seeking out adventure or willing to accept contracts - the group Patron you create will be helpful for this! I ask that that players come into the game with either no idea or only a loose concept for a character they'd like to play. The lore for races in Eberron is unique, and I highly recommend reading the first chapter of Eberron: Rising from the last war to look for character inspiration! Reading the first three chapters would be amazing but I don't expect that, and I certainly don't expect you to remember it all. Please be a good team player, more in RP than combat, D&D is a co-operative game where intra- party arguments and disagreements can be fun. Constantly squabbling that spills out of game is not.
For anyone who wishes to apply, please answers the questions below and get back to me here! If you have a friend or two who you think would also like to join, apply as a pair/trio, having 2/3 people know each other already is great.
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Jim He/Him
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it?
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
6 - Do you have any questions for me?
Thanks for reading, I appreciate it was a lot! I look forward to your replies.
2. I'm fairly inexperienced with TTRPGS and RP - my most consistent exposure was on a WoW RP server a few years ago, where I spent a fair amount of time with an RP guild. I'm learning as much as I can about DnD recently, and am very keen to jump into a proper campaign.
3. While only in the concept stage, I'm very fond of a tiefling warlock I've created, who always allows the ends to justify the means. I find it exciting to try and get into the mind of a character who I fundamentally disagree with, while still trying to make them as compelling and layered as possible.
4. In my only experience as a player in a DnD campaign, our DM was excellent and so I can't think of any particular bad experiences.
5. I'd want to quickly discuss it, of course, but I'd always consider the DM having final say.
6. Nothing for now! Let me know if you need any more info. My Discord is Basil #9090
2. I started to play DnD 2 years ago with games coming and going and a few that are still there ^^ and i love to RP with my Chars what i had not expected when i strarted (now im addicted lol) 3. Prob. my longest running one Alfgör the giant Bearskin and all his quirks
4. yes, with palyers that meta a lot and dont roleplay and DM´s hmmm had one that sounded and acted like he was not enjoying his own game that was weird but besides that not really
5. normely i wouldnt argue a lot, i would tell my side and how i see it but in the end its the DM´s game and he has the last word on it
6. only ones i can think about would be char related and about the existing group
Lukas/#7807 <--- my discord if u wanna hit me up ^^
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? Hi! I'm Lottie (She/They)
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP: I'm 30 years old, from England and got into TTRPGs over lockdown in 2020, but I used to post-by-post RP a lot. I have been playing a campaign now pretty solidly for a year and it;s currently my only campaign. I really want to play a whole lot more, and Eberron has ALWAYS caught my eye!
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG? My Tempest Cleric Jakartha Mistmorn; A sailor and Cleric of Valkur, who has made a living for her mum and siblings. She used to be a wildchild, and despite growing up a little, she has fallen into adventuring almost accidentally because she is running away from grief.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it? Honestly, I've been really lucky! I haven't had any issues so far.
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid! I can understand the frustration some people feel when the rules lock them in, but I don't really get it myself? I trust the GM is doing what they're doing to avoid metagaming/game breaking/and unfair advantage when they're firm on rules. If there was anything I disagreed with entirely for some reason, I'd explain my reasoning on it and why I think my side is right, but I'd wanna hear your view. At the end of the day, it's the GM's call!
6 - Do you have any questions for me? Are there any classes/races that are off the table when creating a character?
Other than that, this sounds like it'd be such a fun campaign! If you wanna talk more, I'd be happy to, you can message me on here and I'll give you my Discord!
2. I've been playing dnd for about five years now, both as a dm and as a player. Its really helped me meet new people through covid, and online dnd has been a huge lifesaver since I live in a rural area. I've meet a lot of people through champaigns and absolutely adore both rp and combat. Homebrew is my favorite, because I love seeing the world a dm builds, and it always seems like both the player characters and the game itself is better for it.
3. My favorite character, was a circle of spores druid I made for a recent Champaign. Her name was spruce, and because of a curse she had me and the dm had been working on a dice roll system for every rest, that would affect both rp and gameplay. Unforchently the champaign never happened because the dm had a family emergency, but I still really like the idea of the character, though I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use her for another Champaign.
4. The only bad experience I've had in dnd was actually in person. There was a forty year old guy who kept making weird comments to the younger girls of the group. The other girl and I both left the group after we talked about the best course of action. Keep in mind I was only sixteen at the time so it was completely inappropriate.
5. If we disagree on a ruling, I usually go by what the dm says. At the end of the day, they usually have a good reason for why they chose to interpret rules a certain way, especially in the case of homebrew. After running a long running Champaign myself, I get that being a dm is a lot of work and preparation, and is about working for the benefit of the group, and it kind of ruins a game to be nit-picking rules as a player.
6. What are you looking for in a player? Would it be okay if I draw some scenes from the Champaign since I'm a hobby artist? Honestly I'm down to play any race or class, because I think that they're all pretty fun.
2 - I'm 24. A dog lover (or really all animals tbh.) Book reader. Amateur crafter. Work for the NHS.
I used to avidly play post-by-post RPs around age 16 but had to focus on studies after that so lost the time to do so. I've now graduated so it's no longer an issue.
I looked into D&D about a year ago and did a couple of one shots on my own with a DM but didn't get to experience the group aspect that really drew me to D&D. I also sat in on a couple of sessions on a campaign to understand if I'd enjoy it before I fully got into committing to a party.
At the moment, I've signed up to another campaign (on a different day) but haven't got past session 0 yet. I'm also loving a couple of D&D podcasts (especially girls who don't d&d as it's great for an introduction to rules etc.) I do understand that playing a campaign is very different to podcasts though - podcasts usually have professional actors, editing etc. Whilst it's cool to listen to, I have reasonable expectations and much prefer bouncing off each other, making silly mistakes and laughing about them instead of making everything cinematic and perfect.
I'm looking for a UK/Europe game with a really welcoming community - I'd really love to find a party I can bond with. Not a necessity, but I always thought it might be nice to arrange an accessible meet up with other party members IRL (providing everybody is comfortable doing so) once or twice a year.
3 - I wouldn't say I have a favourite character, I've got the bug for playing with concepts so I'm pretty malleable in trying to fit in with other players. I would say that the common theme in all my characters is that they've been strong-willed females. I tend to gravitate towards the paladin/cleric/druid/barbarian classes but would happily try others if the party would be patient with me (may need help with specific rules etc.)
4 - Can luckily say I haven't ever had a bad experience. Sorry to those that have!
5 - The DM knows the game dynamics best and has to be fair to everybody. Rules do have to be set in place so people don't have unfair advantages, etc. In my opinion, you shouldn't get offended if the DM's ruling is different to yours. Usually there's a more than valid reason why they're putting it in place and there's no reason to cause an upset because of it. If it happened to me I'd make another cup of tea and move on with the game!
6 - Do you enjoy being a DM? If you needed a break/wanted to become a player yourself, I'd be willing to learn how to run a session so that you could have the chance to in a one shot/side event or something every now and again.
Thanks for your time in reading this. I hope you find the party you're after! :)
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? Hey, I'm Craig. He/Him.
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP I'm 36, based up in Scotland and I work in technology. I play a lot of games, including CRPGs using the dnd rulesets throughout the years but as far as TTRPGs go I've only played a single game! (Hopefully more before next week though) I've been keen to try playing instead of just watching series' online but never made the jump until recently. I'm comfortable with the combat and my first game (online) went well RP wise (I think?), although it was relatively light - everyone's first time playing together but once we got going it was a lot of fun. It was the first of a three-shot in a western setting so it was pretty cool playing something that I hadn't seen played before and we're all playing again next Friday.
I've joined a few groups/discords and hopefully going to see a few more games happening and I'm also keen to DM as well once I get another game or two under my belt. Answering this question though had me thinking and I remember that I used to play in a couple of RP servers in Ultima online years ago. One of them being quite strict as well, must be 20 years ago now. So hopefully it all comes back to me!
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG? I've only made the one for a game, so he wins by default. A Half-Orc fighter, functioning as the muscle in a train heist, poor guy ended up with 8 intelligence though. I'm excited to create more though, character creation and backstory; especially in a longer term campaign, is something I'm keen to start thinking about.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it? I haven't, no and long may it continue.
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid! I've got no interest in arguing rulings, the DMs the one running the game. Assuming you didn't just power word kill my level 2 character for a laugh 🤣
6 - Do you have any questions for me? No not really, I wondered about what session length you were going for or if it was video/voice or just voice but to be honest I was just typing them in to have something in this part! I'll use this section just to say that I obviously don't have a lot of TTRPG experience and I know that can be risky for a DM to accept to the party for a number of reasons so if you are looking for people with more experience, I completely understand.
2) I'm 24. Love music and storytelling. I am currently worldbuilding a homebrew campaign setting based on a short dark fantasy novel I am writing. Favourite authors include Orson Scott Card, Patrick Rothfuss and Brandon Sanderson. I have a pet cat and a rabbit. I have been indoctrinated into TTRPGs by Critical Role. (Watching the show since 2019). Have been playing with various groups on and off since 2020. Have even tried DMing homebrew one-shots or short adventures. Comparatively well verses in DnD 5e and some non official spin-offs (specifically Star Wars 5e).
3)I actually have a list of top 6. Here are two that kind of stand out, plus they have similar themes. I can message you their backstories if you want to read the full 8 pages. Here is a summary
a) Ashley Moore "Black Hawk" aka "Storm Child" - a female ranger/paladin aasimar. She is from a remote frontier village and grew up as an apprentice to the lead Hunter, and later to the village druid. She was seduced and manipulated by a bandit leader whose men raided and sacked her village. During the raid she was assaulted and buried alive by the bandits. Loosing consciousness she had a vision of a female figure cloaked in shadow, deep in the fey woods that was calling her name. Ashley woke up drenched in gore and blood of dead bandits all around her, a celestial/necrotic shroud emanating from her.
b) Lieutenant Helen "Phantom" - a night elf (eladrin based homebrew subrace) Fighter(gunslinger subclass)/Bloodhunter(ghostslayer subclass). Enslaved by an assassin order of drow at a young age she was trained to be an elite agent. While growing up she fell in love with a human boy who was also a slave. He managed to escape into the mountains, organising freedom fighters there, utilising a network of smugglers and criminals to smuggle slaves away to freedom, with the goal of stopping slavery and destroying the assassin order. Helen however remained behind failing to escape with her lover. She was brainwashed into loyalty. And now she has a mission to hunt down her lover. Will she choose love or duty?
4) Sure, the main issue was with scheduling the games where always canceled by the DM we ended up not having a single session in 2 months.
5) The DM always has the final say. I respect his/her ruling no matter what or how I feel about it.
6) How backstory heavy do you want the characters we come up with? Just a basic outline or detailed lore?
2 - I'm a 21 year old student studying IT. I've been playing TTRPGs for about 2 years now and I can't get enough. I love getting to experience fantasy worlds first hand and help make them come alive!
3 - His name was Luvos, he was a dwarven warrior-poet, obsessed with becoming the greatest poet his people had ever seen.
4 - I played with a DM that didn't not allow much player agency, and projected a lot of her real life problems into the game.
5 - Fighting over rules breaks immuration and ruins rp, I'd rather stay in character than fight over rules
6 - Have you run an Eberron campaign before? If not, what drew you to the setting?
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Ben He/Him
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP. I have a history that goes back about 30 years, but not a ton of experience. I played a bit when it was resurfacing in the late 80's finished a few campaigns then the group kinda drifted apart. Got back into it a couple years ago been trying to find a group or game where all the players are willing to make time for more than a couple sessions.
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG? Back in the early days I managed to only have one character, A Rogue/Thief. I leveled him up pretty high, he had his own castle and thief school by the end.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it? I haven't had a bad experience in so many words, I get frustrated trying to get groups together consistently and for decent chunks of time.
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid! I would explain my view of the rules, listen to other views, and then let the DM tell us how it actually works.
6 - Do you have any questions for me? No questions at this time.
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Laura! She/her
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
I always found myself to be pretty creative. I love to create deep characters and play them out. I also have a passion for theatre which comes in handy when roleplaying. I have watched videos and listened to podcasts about dnd for a long time now but I've only started playing a few months ago. But since then I am always looking for new adventures:)
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
I have played a dragonborn wizard before. She was a divination wizard and was therefore able to change fate. Fate was correlated to the universe and the stars in this case so whenever she would make a magic attack I would try to roleplay that somehow. For example she would shoot 3 little stars with her magic missile.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it?
I like for the DM to take the lead and be able to narrate a story. I have had a DM that wasn't so good at talking and only read out of the book which is not optimal for me personally since I was not able to fully emerge myself into the story then.
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
I am always open to listen to everyones opinion. If someone can explain why they have a certain opinion I am willing to listen and tell my opinion but in the end it is up to the DM and I have to accept that:)
6 - Do you have any questions for me?
Just as some other people I was wondering about the session lengh and how detailed the backstory needs to be. Other than that I don't have any questions.
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Jim He/Him
Hello, I'm Pilar, She/Her
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
Back in the late 70s, I got the basic D&D box set as a Christmas gift. My brother and I were thrilled and, with a very cursory reading of the rules, starting playing. Mostly we annoyed each other by trying to thwart the others storytelling (sigh). I was never part of a proper D&D group though and would love to change that. With the resurgence of D&D, I have been listening to many podcasts (I too am enjoying Girls Who Don't D&D, High Rollers as well as Critical Role). My nephew and I have been playing one-shots with my brother as DM. It's so interesting being older and watching someone play who was about the age I was when I first found D&D. I spend most of my time in these one-shots facilitating my nephew's enjoyment.
I'm a reader, a writer and currently am working as an assistant to another writer. I love telling stories with people. My mother's side of the family, who I grew up with, are huge on telling and retelling family stories usually with the hope of making someone laugh. I belong to a storytelling group and believe that that could segue fairly easily to RP.
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
I'm very fond of a dwarven fighter I made back when I was about 14 and playing with my brother. She had very little sense but a lot of enthusiasm and whenever my brother started to intimate that a situation was dangerous, my lil fighter would go rushing in heedlessly.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it? No I have not.
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
Honestly, I'm not the arguing type. I like building stories together and recognize that a DM needs to create the fabric that holds a story together. No point in arguing about interpretations of rules. And I want to learn and become less of a newbie--arguing with the DM would work against that.
-brand new to TTRPGs but just started doing DND for the first time a few months ago and I am really wanting to get into some deep role-play.
-I have a lot of characters set and ready to go. But the one I first made that I have yet to do is a half-orc rogue. He is the type of seasoned private investigator who has been through almost all of it but still has a few enemies that he knows are after him. So he keeps his eyes open and is distrustful of new faces at first.
-I have yet to have any bad D&D experiences yet.
-I am not one to argue over rules. What ever the DM says goes. I just am interested in crafting an amazing story
1 - Hey! What should we call you and what are your pronouns? I'm Jim He/Him
Hey, I'm Fennick (real name is Alfie) and I go by he/him.
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
I first discovered D&D through a mutual friend, but we couldn't play beyond a 'micro-adventure' with just the two of us so the dream of playing died out for a little while. After that, I discovered the Yogscast D&D called High Rollers on YT and fell absolutely in love with the game. I've watched hundreds of hours of D&D on YouTube (including CR obviously)... and I have previously only really DM'd because none of my friends have been interested in doing it, plus I love the creative process of creating worlds. I'm currently writing a book series based in my high fantasy world called Eventis, of which I have DM'd a short 20-session campaign before. I have been a member of a few short campaigns, but I'm looking to really sink myself into an immersive, long-lasting campaign where I can properly develop my character and be immersed in to the world. Ebberon really stands out to me, especially the Warforged race. It's very similar to the Guardian in the Yogscast D&D.
3 - What is your favourite character you've made in any TTRPG?
I once created a character called Mythos Farrow for a Tomb of Annihilation campaign. He was a very simple, 'Batman' esque voice, stays in the shadows as a Gloomlight Ranger or whatever the subclass is called kind of character at first. But across the campaign, he developed from being this reclusive, doesn't say a lot character, into a charismatic, brave person who stood up for himself and his friends on the brink of death and really filled the space of a leader (where our party fell short). I love the way that characters can develop across a campaign and really envelop the human characteristics that we see in ourselves, that's the thing I love most about this game. We're taking characters we've made and really pouring our hearts into them to create a brilliant storytelling experience for everyone.
4 - Have you ever had a bad d&d experience, particularly with a DM? If so what was it?
Once. My DM was extremely new to the game so I wasn't expecting to be completely immersed from the get-go, however, they did not attempt to progress the story at all and we had a group of around eight or nine people. It ended with us just sitting in a tavern for three hours in one session, where the discord call was so loud and active that my character couldn't get a single word in besides: "Could I have a drink-". I stayed for a few more sessions out of loyalty to my friend but I just couldn't enjoy it with all of the chaos and the inability to even play my character. It was frustrating but I've played loads with said friend since!
5 - If we disagree on a ruling, how will you deal with it? Many rules are open to interpretation in dnd, this can cause arguments, which I hope to avoid!
At the end of the day, you are the DM and you have taken your time to create the world and help us immerse within it. If there is a rule which I think should be allowed I will say: shouldn't it work like this? If you disagree, then it's not that deep! We move on... Whilst I agree that both the DM and the players make the world and make the game what it is, I also think that you shouldn't get caught up in arguments over specific rules. The objective of the game is for people to have fun, pestering over rules doesn't add to that!
6 - Do you have any questions for me?
I wondered if any races/classes were out of the question in this campaign? The idea of this whole setting is really appealing to me from the get-go, I wish you the best if I'm not selected :) Thanks!
My discord is TheFennick#0001 if you'd like to message me there about anything.
Hi mate, afraid to say the game has been filled. If it's any consolation there were roughly 45 people going for the final 2 spots. Best of luck finding a game!

1. Hi! My name's Faisal. My pronouns are He/Him
Thanks!
1. Oii im Lukas 23 from Germany, pronouns He/him
2. I started to play DnD 2 years ago with games coming and going and a few that are still there ^^ and i love to RP with my Chars what i had not expected when i strarted (now im addicted lol)
3. Prob. my longest running one Alfgör the giant Bearskin and all his quirks
4. yes, with palyers that meta a lot and dont roleplay and DM´s hmmm had one that sounded and acted like he was not enjoying his own game that was weird but besides that not really
5. normely i wouldnt argue a lot, i would tell my side and how i see it but in the end its the DM´s game and he has the last word on it
6. only ones i can think about would be char related and about the existing group
1. I'm Abby, she/her.
Thanks so much for your time,
My discord is Wymyrce#5086, thanks again
Wanted to message just to say how well thought out this post was. Lots of others have already commented - can I ask if it's still alright to apply? 😊
Yes it's still ok to apply! I will be getting back to everyone tomorrow evening regardless if it's a yes or a no. Cheers!
1 - Hey! I'm Becca. She/her.
He/Him.
2 - Tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with TTRPGS and RP
I'm 36, based up in Scotland and I work in technology. I play a lot of games, including CRPGs using the dnd rulesets throughout the years but as far as TTRPGs go I've only played a single game! (Hopefully more before next week though)
I've been keen to try playing instead of just watching series' online but never made the jump until recently.
Cheers,
Craig
Hi there.
1) I'm Ed, he/him
Just in case my Discord is BlackHawk#8515
1 - Hey! I'm Rickie He/Him/Any
2 - About 3 years experience with 5e
3 - Favorite character would probably be a Barbarian Tortle I played as when I was starting 5e
4 - No particular bad experiences come up, I was dm most of the time when I had a home group
5 - I try to stick within the rules, but I understand DM has say on what the ruling is
6 - No questions come to mind at the moment
1 - I'm Platy, He/Him
2 - I'm a 21 year old student studying IT.
Have a nice day!
6 - Do you have any questions for me?
Not yet.
-Hello I am Bryan He/Him
-brand new to TTRPGs but just started doing DND for the first time a few months ago and I am really wanting to get into some deep role-play.
-No further questions at this time.
