You heard me right ladies, gents, non-binary and everyone in between. To start off, I’d like to say I prefer we play in a text based format. To some it may seem cumbersome, but I feel it’s ideal for long-term gameplay as well as story. Second, I’d like to introduce myself.

My name is Jason, and I’ve been devising a little roleplay plot centered in the era of BOTW just before link wakes up. No actual knowledge of the legend of Zelda universe, or DND, will be required to join my group. Only a willingness to put some casual effort into writing a fun plot with some others. Other writers, that is. You see DND is a fun hobby, indeed, but I also like to use it as a creative exercise. I hope you’ll indulge me a bit and come to see what I mean if we play together. 

My rules for engagement are sparse, but fairly non-negotiable. Be respectful towards your fellow players at all times being first and foremost. As well, all players must post within two days of their last due date. That time being when whoever is before them in rotation makes their post. In place of a full length post (no less than a paragraph) a player may also simply check in with a hello of sorts to extend their due date. This is meant to be more of a system to encourage activity than a way to check homework, and you’ll notice it eliminates the need to be online all at the same time.

I’m not sure how things usually operate around here, so forgive me if I just over explained a bit. If I get at least two people interested, I’ll give you all a more full-length plot description. Thanks for reading!

Would we be playing on dndbeyond?

Dnd beyond or discord, whichever the players prefer. If it is on dnd beyond, I likely won’t be using most of its features and instead opt for “on paper” play. On screen, probably being the more apt turn of phrase.

BOTW: Hyrule Hunters

In the centuries since the Great Calamity humanity has barely clung to its survival. Cities and towns lay in rubble, and overgrown. The closest thing to a recognizable organization is the network of stables which have recently begun popping up. This is why a budding band of adventurers has recently begun calling themselves a “monster hunting guild.” Taking jobs on payment, they’ve recently had some success wiping out small encampments of Ganon’s horrors around central hyrule. Be it purely for the rupees, or for the sake of striking back at a savage world around them, these heroes have come to be a welcome site in the settlements.

Third person info:

Almost all of the ancient shrines found in the game will not yet be active for our plot. Therefore I will spend more time delving into the natural magic (both dark and light) which permeates hyrule. Past, present, and future that is. While I don’t plan on completely pulling our story elements from Zelda Lore, I will be repurposing most of it’s locations and enemies to our story. With some original twists I hope you’ll find intriguing within 5e’s rule set.

This means my players will be expected to stick to these same themes, somewhat. Especially in regards to canon races within the LOZ universe. I’d love to hear your suggestions for racial bonuses within the canon options. All in all, let’s get jiggy with it.

Hello Jason, im very interested in your Lil Pbp campaign in the style of the LoZ BoTW game. as a bonus I have beat the game twice and know quite a lot about the game. I'm happy to fill in some players with lesser knowledge of the game and if you want I found a Zora Hb race that already exists. anyways basic info. Name: Andy, Gender: demi-girl. Exp in dnd and LoZ: 3 years dnd and 7 years LoZ 2 of which is BoTW.

good morning everyone! I had this reply typed up last night but the internet goblins must have made off with the data somewhere between my screen and yours! Everyone who has replied to this is welcome to hop into that link and start brainstorming. I am interested. I’ve never done a text based campaign, but I do enjoy writing and I did play Zelda games back in the day.  I think it could be fun.
