Thank you all for your interest, this filled faster than I had planned. Discord messages have been sent out. Thanks again!
I see a ton of threads about people being brand new and looking for a DM so they can learn to play. Well look no further.
All people and dogs welcome.
Please note that all DM’s have different styles and we may fit well, or we may not, either way, it’s all good.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online / using Foundry VTT and discord for voice only Experience: New Players Encouraged // I’ve been DMing for a group of friends for about 3 years now. Location/Timezone: Thursday 8pm Central Time // Sessions are about 3 - 3.5 hours Schedule: played weekly Roles sought: up to 5 players maybe 6…but no more than 6, games will play with at least 3 in attendence. Game style: Rule of Cool. There will be what ever the group wants and enjoys. Some enjoy more RP, some enjoy more combat, some like a mix, I’ll follow the groups lead. You want to chat, we can chat, you want to bash heads in, thats cool too.
The first session will be a Session 0 where we will do a meet and greet, make characters, go over some basic rules, give out hugs to anyone who feels overwhelmed.
Please post below with the following info;
Experience: New / a few years / veteran Location/Timezone: (timezone as appropriate) Game style: (Some information about what sort of game you are looking for e.g. casual, hardcore, roleplay, hack'n'slash).
Class(es) and Race(s) interested in playing:
About me;
My names Pat, I’m old as hell, ok well not that old, I’m 3….7? It stops mattering after 25 when you can rent a car. Anyway, I’ve been DMing since COVID forced our in person game nights to cancel and my friends and I needed a way to fill the time. I buy all my books hard copy, again, because I’m old, so I wont have alot to share on D&D beyond…didn’t know it was a thing when I started, but we can do things on paper or in Foundry (I will teach you young padawan).
Experience: New I’ve been in 2 campaigns, so I know the rules/mechanics fairly well, but I am a novice with role playing and really getting in to character. This would be a great fit for me. Location/Timezone: I’m in the CST and this time for sessions is PERFECT for me. Outside of some kind of major emergency, I would never be late or miss a session. Game style: I feel too new to say that I have strong preferences for game style. I DO want to get into character more and be a bigger part of the story. (I struggle with blending into the scenery and being too quiet, but I think this is mostly from being brand new and not wanting to “do something wrong.”)
Most race/class combos are still new for me. I’ve been a fighter, so I’m thinking maybe being a caster. Probably either a life cleric or possibly a rogue/arcane trickster. But I’m open to being something else, if it fills a party role. Probably a human or halfling for either.
Experience: Been playing for almost 2 years now. Only have been a player before, and only DM'd once for a one-shot. I know enough to not get lost.
Location/Timezone: I'm in CST time zone.
Game Style: Probably more casual. Definitely like the combat side of D&D more but still enjoy roleplay, exploration, etc.
Classes/Races to play: Don't have an exact preference. I like to pick something I feel the party is lacking in to fill any holes. But if I had to choose a class, probably a Cleric, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard. I have mostly played as martial based characters and would like to try a more caster based character. In terms of race, would either go with Human, Half-Elf, Tiefling, Dragonborn, Half-Orc, or Genasi.
If you would like to contact me through Discord, you can at Rotolux#1238.
Experience: I've been playing about a year, mix of player and dm Location/Timezone: Est Game style: Casual Roleplay is my thing I definitely don't mind some good head knocking but I also like it when combat doesn't take so long as to completely slow things to a crawl.
Class(es) and Race(s) interested in playing: I'm normally the get up and hit guy so maybe some type of spellcaster, warlock maybe or go full war cleric both are ideas, or sorcerer because they're just fun. Race wise not sure yet
My Discord is jsnake134#9264 And I hope it works plus I also am the friend of one above.
My name is Ken and I am also an old man with grown children. I'm an original computer geek/nerd from way back. I've been a gamer since I was 12 having played all manner of systems, many of which no one has ever heard of. I have a lot of patience and like to think I'm a pretty chill guy (having kids teaches you these things).
Experience: Veteran - I started with Basic D&D in the blue box back in like '77. Location/Timezone: Eastern Game style: I like a mix of RP, puzzles, and combat and prefer cooperative, positive parties (vs. a group of evil PCs).
Class(es) and Race(s) interested in playing: I'll play anything. I will fill in any obvious skill/class gaps once others have decided.
"Oi, ello der, I ear you be lookin for a couple venturers for some kind of excursion? I've got some business down south, I'm a merchant by trade ya see. If'n you've room I'll tag along. Makes sense to travel in a group don't it? sides I have a particular set of skills that might come in andy should you need someone light on der feet and quiet as a mouse. Ma names' Garrick, Garrick Stonefoot. At your service."
Experience: 5e only a few months. played 1st and 2nd editions in the 80s Location/Timezone: Est Game style: I like a good mix of RP and combat. A good back story makes a character come alive. But an action filled adventure or skill challenge (not necessarily combat) can make for a great session.
Class(es) and Race(s) interested in playing: I have about a dozen characters pre-made that can be stat re-rolled and dropped into any campaign setting. The above is my deep gnome rogue, I also have a wood elf ranger I've been wanting to have a run with.
Shoot me a message here or on discord. Shadukar#3151 Thanks.
Zaschi, new player (several one shots), EST. Casual, combat... beginner @ roleplay. I've mostly played a Tiefling cleric. I am older than he'll but willing to learn from a young master.
EXPERIENCE: I've been playing TTRPG's off and on for about 25 years. I'm new to 5e, but I understand the rules.
TIMEZONE: CST(US)
GAME STYLE: Casual atmosphere with engaged players that like to get into RP and act on their character motivations.
CLASS/RACE: Any, but I do enjoy playing support roles when all the other roles are taken.
ABOUT ME: I'm 39. I have a few hundred hours of play time on a few different systems, mostly in person games. I like to do a character voice, and I like to write backstories and stuff to match my character role. I don't enjoy tables with rude players or lots of arguing. I prefer when player characters have RP reasons to stay with the party and not need to be constantly convinced to adventure.
Hey there. I’m interested if you have room. I’ve been watching Critical role and like what they do. So I’m looking for something with that sort of flavor. I’m in EDT, I’m older than you, and haven’t played since the days of the original box set. I look forward to hearing from you.
