So saw this website and thought wow what a great idea! Played a lot in my teens and couple times with my son over the years. Now I'm 55 looking west coast group or late nights for PST time zone as I am a night shifter with wends thru Sat off weekly. Not sure how this all work on here but would love to learn just be a little patient! Thanks and hopefully see ya soon!
Hello Silvermax, welcome back! I'm an older player as well. If you don't find any groups here I suggest looking at the official D&D channel on Discord. I can tell you that while DnD is more popular than ever, it's a bit of a challenge finding a table for mature players. If you have a local TT games shop in your area, I suggest going in to chat with them about local games and other online forums as well.
Here is a copy of the format most DM's look for on forums like this one and on sites like Discord. I suggest copy/pasting this format, filling it in with your appropriate info, and then copy/pasting that to the forums.
#Player Name: Les #Age: 39 #Availability: Weekly, flexible on time #Preferred Class: Any, but I do like to play support when all the other roles are filled. #Character Level: Prefer to start at lower level and move into more epic stuff over time. #Preferred Gameplay Type: I do a character voice and engage in RP. I like to be mostly in character (with some OoC chat) during exploration, skill challenges, puzzles, and combat. #Edition: D&D 5e, Pathfinder 1e, open to others #Pay-for-Play: no #Experience: New to 5e, veteran TT player. #Platform: I've used Discord and Tabletop Simulator, open to any VTT. Not looking for Westmarch, PbP, or only Theater of the Mind.
#Additional Notes: I can occasionally DM one-shots if the groups wants to mix it up.
Don't give up if you don't find a group right away. If the first group isn't right for you then try, try again. If you are just getting back into DnD, keep in mind that they are coming out with yet another system in 2024 so you might not want to over spend on too many reference books for 5e at the moment.
Thanks! Will reshuffle the LFG this weekend and try again. Waiting on a new PC next week also so will explore more then as well. Thanks for the info and advice.
