Hello there, fellow traveler! Allow me to warmly welcome you to my post. Do make yourself comfortable. Though before I dive into the nitty-gritty itself, I ought to say a little about myself first. Feel free to call me Nate :D
Intro: I've been on this earth for almost 20 years, and am a giant geek at heart despite being an avid sportsman and fighter. You could say that it's a rare breed, being able to mingle with both nerds and jocks, but I find that duality very endearing. Helps you find plenty of interesting people across the way, whether they be adversaries on the field, or online friends over DnD. Whatever the case may be, I love interacting with them and do hope to make some strong bonds with those who are willing! Speaking of those, I'm also known to form groups extremely quickly due to said connections. So, when stuff needs doing, you know who to call!
As for roleplay experience: I adore roleplaying and have been doing it as a hobby for about five years now! Same as my DnD active duty record! It's just something about immersing yourself in a character for hours at a time that helps one get away from worldly problems for a time. And maybe even working on their own as they explore a fascinating mix of their fantasies as well as the spins of their own minds. Strange how such a simple concept can shape someone so much. As for something more concrete, I adore finding character dynamics and themes with other players and NPCs and seeing what interesting themes we can explore. I am very much the type of person to try and get immersed and will try my best to immerse my fellow players into this wonderful world we're creating as well!
And finally, the big game stuff: I was interested in playing the powerhouse of the party, a brutish and strong barbarian who would meet any threat towards our fellow party head on. I have two concepts. My main idea is the one of a struggler. One who dares whirl with destiny out of defiance, despite what the outcome may hold. For what is a man without a will? He would ideally be the personification of a mortal impudence that knows no bounds, and the strength it can provide. A struggler, fighting a possibly fleeting battle against the nature of the world that has brought him in. Against the world, against society, against fate, and lastly... against himself. It's the journey of unyielding perseverance, chasing something which may in fact be unreachable. Yet not stopping despite knowing that fact. A fated champion who was led to believe that he would be the one to best a great evil, then betrayed by the harsh embrace of defeat. Either in battle, or because he was late to the battle, which would be an even bigger shame. Now resurrected, he has no purpose but to try and redeem himself. I even had an idea that until then, he holds a vow of silence, as a grim reminder of his shortcomings. But that's not set in stone. In short, I'd like to play the idea of a failure.
My second concept is of an aspiring Dragon Slayer who has witnessed first hand the cruelty some are capable of, and is blinded with rage and prejudice against dragon kind. I had this rare and extremely risky ritual in mind where people undergo changes to their bodies in order to combat these foul beasts. Artificial forces of nature had to combat real ones. Think like witchers, but even fewer and farther in between. One which would make their bodies the only weapons they needed, imbued with the raw might of their sworn enemies. I can go in depth about the story of the ritual and all, but the short version is that it involves the consumption of draconic flesh. Maybe the dragons he bests and eats could give him power. It's a new homebrew thing I'm working on. The theme for this one would be overcoming prejudice and the ruse of cockiness that hides his insecurities.
In conclusion: I have a lot more ideas, and love coming up with stuff to fit our party and setting. So if having such a player at your table sounds appealing, feel free to reach out! Have a good one
