Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: A few years Location/Timezone: Eastern Standard Time Zone Schedule: Once a week, either 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm OR 8:00 pm to 10:00...time as well as day of the week will be discussed with all interested parties. Roles sought: DM willing to implement two house rules I've come up with, three players (I'll be a fourth player). Game style: Casual, just for fun livestreamed campaign.
Hello, everyone, I know no one is going to respond to this, but I'm going to post it anyway. I'm trying to start a D&D YouTube channel that will consist of a once-a-week livestreaming campaign. I'll be using a streaming platform known as Restream so everyone can play remotely without having to meet in person AND the DM will be able to use the screensharing feature to share battle maps, images, etc but that's something we can discuss.
There are two house rules, that I would appreciate the DM be ok with using: 1. No weight limit. Treat inventory like a bag of holding. This is how my friend who runs a private D&D group does things and it makes focusing on the story much easier. 2. Homebrew friendly. I plan to play a character who's class is a homebrew class called Card Dealer. These two particular homebrew/house rules are non-negotiable. The DM MUST be willing to implement them. No exceptions.
As I'm still failing to find people who wish to play and person who wishes to DM, a day of the week and a time for a weekly livestreamed campaign will have to be reached by everyone involved, so that can be discussed through, say, Discord. I can also give everyone a run down of how Restream works, if you need to know. I'll be managing the channel, setting up the streams and procuring the links to the Restream studio each week, so all the DM and my fellow players need to do is be ready to play and have some fun. One thing I learned when I did game streaming with someone back in the day was that it's best to do it in the evening of your local time zone. So even if I get some people outside of the US, please note the time frame for streaming in the evening/at night will be the Eastern Standard Time Zone. Please be aware of this when deciding if you want to join and being ready to discuss your schedule.
Oh and one big rule: Everyone needs to be enjoying themselves and having a good time. If someone wants to pull some funny shenanigans in character, let them do it as long as it doesn't derail the whole game and shut the campaign down. Everyone should be willing to play the character THEY want to play. Even if the character you're playing a straight-laced "No shenanigans" kind of person, you MUST respect if someone else plays a character with that personality.
Of course, the DM and I will discuss particulars on what is acceptable and what is going too far, but above all, I want everyone involved to enjoy themselves. By the way, note to any DM candidates: A friend of mine and I who conceived this channel idea with me, built a full continent for world building, so if you want a headstart, I'm happy to provide the information, unless you want to build a world from scratch.
One final thing of note: While an on-going campaign is the overall goal, one shots or even trying to incorporate official adventures into an ongoing campaign is acceptable, though I would like to see an on-going story involving a group of adventures instead of strictly only playing out of official sourcebooks. Please do try to either incorporate them into a fleshed out world or set them aside for one shots between quests and the over-arching adventure of the main campaign.
Alright, that's all I have to say. Further details can be discussed via the inbox or even through a system like Skype or Discord (I have both).
Hi I’d like to add my character to your party im in the same time zone and would love to get some more time in for dnd I’ve been playing for a while now but don’t have all the book I should due to financial issues but I feel like I could help out
Hello, My name is Hayden and I'd love to DM for a Youtube channel. As a matter of fact, I've done so before! I cannot guarantee the most fabulous story arcs, but I can give you a show for sure! My discord is ShahKing5#7729 if you want to keep in touch, so feel free to reach out.
Sounds like a rather fun idea, I'm on the west coast but my schedule is pretty open in the afternoon, if you have room at the table as a player I would not mind trying to join you all.
I've only done a few sessions online I've played a good bit of tabletop before everything happened with the world within the last few years.
As far as characters go I'm pretty used to playing clerics (main), barbarians, fighters, or even sorcerers.
It would probably help if I put where you could get a hold of me. :)
darkrick510#7887 here is my discord. I would be interested in connecting to see if there is a fit. Even if there is not, I’d like to know the channel so I could give it a follow!
