Two new to the game

Thought I would reach out. My partner and myself want to start playing DnD but haven't before. I watch a lot of DnD online but he is new to it all. Any ideas of where to start?

We would need to go through everything from character generation to actual game play.

We're UK based so evenings and weekends our time would be ideal online.
