Looking to play D&D for the first time. I've never played before, I do listen to a lot of D&D podcasts. I am a huge fantasy reader. I played a lot of Magic The Gathering back in the day. My character is a human Rogue who(I had to come up with something and this is just what happened) is entirely based on the character of Wooderson from the movie Dazed and Confused. Hope you can help me get involved in a campaign or at least point me in the right direction.
I'm on the same ship as you, i'm also a first timer looking for a campaign to join, all I know about dnd though is roll dice, and depending on dice roll, things happen

Always looking for a casual beginner-level campaign
Oh okay you should listen to "Dungeons and Daddies"(not a BDSM podcast) and maybe "Not Another D&D Podcast". The latter is probably a better choice for figuring out the mechanics of the game. If I find a campaign i'll let you know and if you find one you let me know?
Hey I reached out to someone who runs a D&D community, are you willing to pay to play sessions? I'm not quite ready to start paying to play a game I have no idea how to play but I can point you his way if you are.

So as far as I can tell You guys are about two hours behind me. It's like 1:00 pm there right now? That would make it 9:30 for me. How long does a session last? I want to say yes but I wanna make sure I can and not just up and bail on you. What is the set-up? Discord?
Really appreciate it man but I think I just found a session that's in my time zone and will work a little better. Thanks for the offer though, again really appreciate it.
