Hello everyone! I am looking for 4 players for a homebrew campaign I am wanting to stream on my channel set in a world I created called Alainn. The information is listed below. There are also a few application questions at the bottom of the post. Feel free to comment if interested or send me a private message.
Game Information:
Time: Every Friday 6:30 GMT/2:30 EST
Open Slots: 5
Length: longer campaign
System: D&D 5e
What you’ll need: working microphone and webcam (streamed game) and Roll20. We'll be doing out of game chat through discord, and video and audio through VDO Ninja.
Experience: All experience levels welcome but being comfortable with acting out your character is a plus. 18+ only.
Character Creation: Will most likely start at level 3. I’ll provide lore and information about the homebrew setting to help flesh out your character’s backstory. This campaign will be fairly roleplay/social heavy.
Synopsis: Adventures in Alainn takes place 100 years after the Lycidian War, an infamous series of battles where the Saint of Death and his legions of undead joined forces with King Favian VI of the Bellerose Dynasty in an attempt to expand the underworld’s dominion. The consequences of the war were felt all across Alainn, but they were exceptionally devastating on the continent of Briste, where the majority of the battles were fought. 100 years later, kingdoms are being rebuilt and the alliances that were formed during the war are reshaping the political dynamics of the world. In western Briste, the Bellerose Dynasty is still looked at with distrust from other countries due to siding with Lycidas as they attempt to rebuild their empire in isolation. On the southeastern end of the continent lies the Crestbourne Alliance, where three countries that were once separate now thrive as one. This is the birthplace of a new era recently labeled the Age of Harmony, focused on peace, innovation, and discovery. Will this era of peace in Alainn last while the ripples of the past can still be felt?
Application Questions:
1. What is your experience level with D&D?
2. What are your top 2-3 race and class combinations you would be interested in playing for this game? Include subclass if you know which one you'd like to do. No backstory is needed yet. I will send lore documents to help you get acquainted with the world. (Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Volo's Guide to Monsters, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are all good)
3. What is your favorite part about playing D&D if you have played before?
I am very interested in joining and have everything this campaign needs to succeed on stream. I have been playing D&D since before 5e and am looking forward to the new edition in 2024. But anyway, My favorite classes are Rangers and Sorcerers. Particularly, Divine Soul Sorcerer, and I wish there was like a Harbinger Ranger, but I guess that's just a Paladin. Anyway, for races, I don't have any favorites, but I'd be interested in trying one of the new Spelljammer races outside of that campaign.
My favorite part of D&D is definitely combat. I like to RP in combat a lot. I RP out of combat via skills and abilities, but my joy comes from rolling a lot of dice. I also love being more fun over more optimized. As for your last question, it's an easy yes for both. Feel free to message me here if you think I could fit in to your campaign. Have a nice day!
This sounds very interesting. That time slot works pretty well for me, as well.
Experience: I've been playing for about 4 years now, DM-ing consistently for two years.
Top Races/Classes: I really like paladins as a class and elves and aasimar as races. I've been thinking about playing a fire genasi artificer with ties to fire giants, but I don't really have any firm ideas for a new character.
Favorite Part of D&D: On the DM side of the screen, I love when players come up with a solution to a problem so far apart from what I was thinking of as the actual solution, but it still works. It makes me laugh and I love seeing the creativity. As a player, I really like overcoming bad odds in a combat or through an rp encounter.
Not sure if you are still searching, but I am curious. See my five cents below ;)
1. What is your experience level with D&D?
Decent. Have DMed myself before in a homebrew campaign that is currently on ice (a bit tough to organize the people unfortunately), have been playing on and off in various campaigns and/or one-shots.
2. What are your top 2-3 race and class combinations you would be interested in playing for this game? Include subclass if you know which one you'd like to do. No backstory is needed yet. I will send lore documents to help you get acquainted with the world.
So many tempting combinations. Heck, I'd love to try the subclass for sorcerer I designed myself even. But that's a complex one. Otherwise very open and flexible, I'd slightly adjust to the party I suppose.
3. What is your favorite part about playing D&D if you have played before?
The sense of adventure and achievement. The tension in harsh battles. The struggle not to metagame and talk out of character when life-changing decisions are to be made (by other characters!).
Hi, i hope you're still looking for players! Here are my applicant answers. If there's still vacancies please consider me!
1. What is your experience level with D&D?
I'm a completely new player looking to start a game before i dm for my friends.
2. What are your top 2-3 race and class combinations you would be interested in playing for this game? Include subclass if you know which one you'd like to do. No backstory is needed yet. I will send lore documents to help you get acquainted with the world. (Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Volo's Guide to Monsters, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are all good)
Bard is my number 1 favourite class followed by druid. I find a theif subclass very interesting as well.
3. What is your favorite part about playing D&D if you have played before?
Although I've never played before, whenever i watch people play via their streams of youtube clips, i always pay attention to their roleplay as its very interesting. I also like how the dice rolling parts of dnd is very gambling-like, which excites me a lot.
Hi, if you're still looking for players I'm really interested to join. The world sounds like a really interesting setting, with lots of opportunity for some deep roleplay!
1. What is your experience level with D&D?
I've played on/off for a few years, and ran an Eberron campaign for a group of my friends through 2020. I'm keen on the roleplay side; a strong story and group dynamic is the magic ingredient for a really gripping campaign in my opinion!
2. What are your top 2-3 race and class combinations you would be interested in playing for this game? Include subclass if you know which one you'd like to do. No backstory is needed yet. (Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Volo's Guide to Monsters, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are all good)
I'm open to pretty much anything that fits with the lore and with the party, but some quick ideas:
- a wizard (from the Crestbourne Alliance?) keen to share the latest innovations and to inspire others with the power of research. Overly keen, with reams of paper exploding out of every pocket and inkstains everywhere, always on the lookout for the next discovery while trying to convince everyone nearby of the value of the last discovery.
- a war-weary cleric, tired of putting back together those injured in the fighting. To others they seem gruff and almost uncaring, complaining and cursing while assisting those in need. Internally they are gripped with a struggle over their faith, and whether they can truly hold onto their belief after seeing years of others suffering.
- a rogue who was part of a noble house, turning their idle pastimes into a trade in the aftermath of the war. Bored and looking for thrills, their escapades gradually worsen. Simple pranks on friends, to pick-pocketing at parties to embarrass guests in front of others, to stealing things from other noble houses to be amused by their outrage (if they even notice the loss). The items themselves hold little value, the thrill of the caper is the true prize.
3. What is your favorite part about playing D&D if you have played before?
The imaginative solutions and interpretations of a scene, and the way that collective storytelling can shape a narrative into something different but far better than the original intent. The dynamic in the party, and the way people can build on each others ideas to produce something amazing. The way that a group builds up a language of past experiences and occurrences, and stories that can be fondly remembered.
4. Do you have a working webcam and microphone?
Yep! Are headsets ok or do you prefer separate microphones?
Hoping to hear back from you, but if not then good luck and have fun to you and your players.
