Hi there! This is my first ever post on DnD beyond.
I'm a young trans man in my mid twenties, and for several reasons including physical and psychological disabilities, I've had to quit all my TTRPG groups at the beginning of the year. It was especially heartbreaking for me, because TTRPGs were one of my most constant sources of social contact, plus I tend to be really involved in the stories I participate in, so the decision was not easy to make.
To put it plainly, I need shorter sessions to accomodate for my disabilities, and the groups I was in could not provide that. (No hard feelings about it, sometimes the scenarios planned just can't be made shorter least you lose some critical moments!)
Due to a general case of the brain fog and memory issues, I can't really focus on the game properly for more than 3-4 hours. My games typically ran for 6-8 hours, and that was just too much for me. It was also too long a time for me to remain seated in the same spot, as I am physically disabled and addled with chronic pains and other joint/muscle/nerve issues.
But to be honest, I'm sad as sheets. The sudden aggravation of my health has left me feeling very isolated, and I wanna break out of my shell so I don't get caught in a vicious cycle. Plus I just miss my hobby. I've been playing TTRPGs for seven years, and quitting so suddenly makes me feel like something's missing.
That's why I thought of looking for games online! It would be easier to run shorter games online compared to IRL, and the possibilities are many.
So here I am. Looking for a group that is queer friendly, (because I tend to incorporate that aspect into my characters so I'd rather play with people who are okay with that) and willing to accomodate for my disabilities in regards to the purely "administrative" part of the game. This would ideally include the aformentionned short sessions, but also a leniency when it comes to remembering details about the campaign or system, because my memory isn't quite working as intended and things sometime slip from my mind.
But of course, it's not just accomodation when playing with me! I'm a very passionate player, and I live for creating characters. I'm willing to try almost any genres (my faves being fantasy and horror), and I love roleplay. I'm not much of a fighter, but I like to roleplay charismatic, social-oriented characters, who get the party out of trouble through deception or diplomacy.
I love to plan background links with other players if they want, or to see where the story takes us. Due to being autistic, I like it when communication is clear and simple, so I will always tell you if I have expectations, questions, or thoughts. And I've spent quite a bit of time working on my own diplomacy stat, so I'm more of a conflict solver than starter.
And I think that summarizes it. I'm fully open to more discussion and some session zeros to see if I'd be a good fit for your group, so don't hesitate to reply if you're looking.
And if like me, you're a fellow player/DM looking for the kind of game I'm looking for, do reply as well! I'm definitely not against building a group from the ground up.
Thank you for taking the time to read my - lengthy- post, good luck and have fun on your adventures!
TLDR: Social oriented player searching for short sessions with group willing to accomodate for several disabilities. Needs to be queer friendly. Seven years of experience, willing to try new genres, preference for horror and fantasy. Very open to communication in and out of game.
Game: Any Group preferred: Online Experience: Seven years Location/Timezone: France, GMT+1 Availability: Varying, but mostly available during the afternoon, any day of the week or weekend. (Outside of medical appointments.) Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm into roleplay oriented games. I've played mostly casual but I'm not against survival if I'm told before creating my character. I'm okay with mature themes with some exceptions I'll need to discuss with the DM beforehand. (But I very much doubt it'll be a problem.) I've never done paid games so IDK how I feel about them, but I'm open to the idea and discussing what it entails.
EDIT: As if I needed to prove I was telling the truth, I forgot both the formatting in the title, AND the info section. My apologies, I've fixed what I can.
