We are two 20 year old players from Finland (UTC+2) looking for a group that is serious about dnd, especially the storytelling aspect of it. We'd prefer a group size of 4+ players who are already somewhat experienced at DnD. Even/not completely one sided gender split would be cool. Thematics and gameplay wise we're super into a story based campaign with plenty of roleplay and general meaningful themes. We love combat and puzzle encounters as well but not as filler, and generally speaking we want the campaign to be a story with an arc, not a soap opera. The typical hero's journey where the characters start from little and slowly become meaningful / start achieving their goals would be the ideal campaign. We're looking for a mature game, where 18+ themes are definitely allowed - not expected at all - and they shouldn't be the main point. We appreciate social commentary and prefer tackling real issues from a nuanced perspective. The deeper the lore, the better. Homebrew content is always a plus. Would prefer to start at level 3+, since that's where most classes start getting more defined and gain more fun abilities.

Yo, I'm Christoffer and I'm currently serving in the Finnish Air Force, but will be discharged (honorably) within a month. In January I will start my studies in environmental engineering, so my freetime will be limited to weekends in most cases. In DnD I enjoy playing as characters that have interesting personalities, which can sometimes be comedic, but I can definitely play more serious characters if that is what the campaign is about. I tend to get pretty into a character so if others aren't doing the same it's not that enjoyable. I love homebrewed rules, classes and races as long as they make sense and aren't too op. I think that in many cases they might be a better alternative than RAW. I'm looking for a group that can actually get into their characters and spend most of the time in character, rather than talking out of character and hope that the characters you make will not just be cardboard cutouts of yourselves or some mary sue characters, because they have little meaning and not much depth in my experience. Metagaming will always exist to some extent but I would like to keep it to a minimum and have the characters do what they would do and not necessarily what you would do, given their flaws and such.
Hey, I'm Miika. I like playing a deep character with interesting and nuanced motivations. Generally speaking I aim to build my character on some existing stereotype or trope, and then flesh them out story-wise as I play. I'm pretty comfortable with improv and enjoy playing with interesting combat mechanics too. I would also be able to DM, but cannot do so at the moment since I am busy with my studies at the moment. Outside of D&D I'm a comp sci student studying in Helsinki Finland, have a bit of a dark sense of humour and am interested in a variety of topics from martial arts to philosophy and biology. I am also quite interested in a campaign in the warhammer fantasy or 40k setting, so that's something that'd be a bonus.
Thank you for your invite, however we are unable to make mondays due to our work and studies. Have a nice day and I hope you find players with more flexible schedules!
Hello, I am currently running Curse of Strahd. My campaign has liberal amounts of homebrew built in. Our schedule is flexible , as we all have outside engagements. Typically, we discuss at the end of the session when the next one will be. I do charge however, 10$ CAD per session. Sessions are 3 hrs long with a 5 min intermission. The party is 3 main players, with two auxiliary players who can't attend as much. Everyone is currently level 4. We play on the Foundry platform, and use Discord for voice. Logistically, you would need Discord and accounts for Foundry, Forge, and DDB. All of which are free. This platform allows me to run animated maps. I'm DM#5773 on Discord, if you wish to discuss.
willow i can take you i just need a discord and for you to make a character and I can add you

Hello Christoffer & Miika! If you're willing to give a pbp WM a try - which considering the schedules you mentioned and your timezone might align really well - check us out! We're big on no metagaming and encourage people to get into character both in pbp and in our one-shots that tie into the world lore and progression.
If it sounds interesting to you, shoot me a message in the thread and a friend request on discord. We go through a pre-convo with each person to make sure it's a good fit on both ends. ^^
