New Campaign Starting Soon

As previous campaigns draw to a close, memories have been carved into the bedrock of eternity, blood has been spilt, fortunes made and fortunes lost. Now the time has come for heroes to rest and new adventurers to prove their metal - or die trying. Games will be run at a pace all players are comfortable with. I strongly encourage roleplaying, and getting into the mind of your character - let them live and grow in your imagination, let us tell their story together.

Waterdeep... The city of splendour. Blood of long forgotten battles stains the earth beneath the cobbled streets. On these streets children laugh, peddlers sell, business deals and life takes shape for its blissfully ignorant citizens. The Jewel of the North never shone as bright as this. Water runs from taps in the the mansions of nobles, an intricate plumbing network maintained by the plumbers guild - just one of the hundreds of artisan guilds that contribute to the daily function of the city. But factions vie for power - politics, espionage, diplomacy, seduction.

Half a million gold coins are hidden somewhere in Waterdeep. Many know about the cache and are looking for it - it lures fortune seekers from every corner. But then again, that's just a rumour. One of many in the City of Splendours. The city swallows them once they learn that it's no more than a fairy tale. Some become legitimate traders and carve out a modest living. Others fall in with guilds and factions, like the Zhentarim - and take what they feel is owed to them, one way or another. So many come to Waterdeep to carve out a portion of its prosperity as their own - but she does not give willingly.

We? We're the denizens of Waterdeep, the most advanced city on the Sword Coast. Our noble elite? The epitome of sophistication. Our working guilds? The gold standard of craftsmanship. Our queen? Wise and beautiful beyond compare.

[ DM ]

I enjoy weaving together visuals, sound and narrative to create memorable moments in a living world. I try to limit groups to 5 players because I believe this is the optimum number of players for online play. It is more important to me to create an experience for every character and player than to squeeze in as many players as possible. It's not uncommon for games to last more than a year, therefore it is important for players in a group to share expectations and be mostly on the same page when it comes to what they enjoy about their sessions and understand the commitment. I like to run a personable table where players, not only characters, get along and form lasting bonds. I encourage heavy roleplay and provide a space for everyone to do so without judgment. And remember, we are not trying to simulate a video game but instead enjoy shared story telling!

[ What to Expect ]

Reliability - Sessions will be run on time, well prepped. A 'Plugged In' Character - Your character will belong to the world. Their backstory will be woven into the game in a way that makes you feel connected. Combined Media - Visuals, maps, sound, everything to create an immersive environment. Friendly and Safe Table - I encourage jumping headfirst into roleplaying, at a table where you feel comfortable. This is why it's important for players to get along and why I talk to every applicant before starting the game. Full Length Sessions - Sessions run 4 hours and only end early if all players feel the need to do so. We will schedule breaks (miss a week) as needed, but atleast every 5th week. I have no problem with sessions running over time if it naturally makes sense in the game to do so or as momentum dictates.

[ What I Expect ]

On Time - Session will start on the hour. Life happens, but as best possible please try to be on time or let us know if you are running late Respect for Other Players - Please be respectful of all other players. On that, leave your political views out of games, regardless of where they lie. We are here to have fun and to forget about reality for a few precious hours No Metagaming - You ruin the game for yourself and potentially other players too. Enjoy the roleplaying experience and immerse yourself in your character Have an open mind - Bad things will happen to your characters, they will get sick, potentially lose limbs, they experience joy, sadness. Good things will happen to them too. I ask that you play your character and not try to beat the DM through min/maxing. The DM is on your side.

[ Important to Know ]

We use slightly stricter rules for character creation by rolling for stats, and hp on level up. We also use a small selection of house-rules which makes games a bit harder. It is possible characters may experience long-term injuries, like losing a hand/finger/ear, etc, or even disease. By the same token, characters may receive blessings. The bottom line is, I ask you join with an open mind and embrace the RP possibilities created by a grittier game - this is not for you if you like min/maxing or playing against the DM.
