Introduction to D&D campaign based on a prebuilt campaign content.
Game: D&D 5e
Group type: Online through Discord with Avrae bot. I will also share some content through Owlbear rodeo.
Location/Timezone: Online via Discord. Will be Discord for most of everything.
My Timezone: pacific standard timezone
Schedule: Friday Dec 2 starting from 6:00 pm until the 1 shot is completed or the session runs too long.
I will schedule for the Dec 2nd Friday but may push it to the following week if I don’t have all the players or they are not yet ready..
Roles sought: 4 Players New players preferred
Game style: My name is Spiff and I will be hosting an introduction/tutorial 1 shot session This will be intended for new players looking to learn the game. This game will be hosted through discord so all players will need a working microphone/headset or speakers. Discord games work best on PC' so I will request all players play though a PC system. If interested please let me know what race and class you wish to play as well as how familiar and how much D&D experience you have. If you have any questions about this 1 shot session please don’t hesitate to ask.

Campaign Tone
This will be a casual game at a slower pace. This one shot will take place Friday evening and is designed for new players to help understand the game better and get D&D gameplay experience. New players are encouraged to join the session.
Session should be about 4 hours with a short session 0 to troubleshoot any technical issues as well as define the game expectations. Upon invite I will send out a session 0 summary to minimize time going over the game content and expectations of the session. I will have both player and character introduction at the beginning.
Players are in the driver’s seat to the extent that the DM has material to cover what the PCs are going to do that evening, and if they wander too far off the adventure path, then the game pauses for the material to catch up. It is possible to fail objectives and have the campaign continue—win or lose; there’s going to be action.
This session will be based in the mining town of Phandalin on the Sword Coast and is designed to be completed in about 4 hours of gameplay.
Difficulty
The difficulty of this session will be for new players and will be of minimum difficulty, however PC causalities will happen if players bumble about or if merely unlucky.
Players are expected to use team-centric, combined-arms tactics/strategy. There are random encounters that could turn deadly, and PCs can wander into places beyond their ability to survive if the party does not retreat and reassess.
Player who successfully complete story line quests will be awarded xp, coins, items and weapons.
PC Death
Since this is a 1 shot PC death will be unlikely but possible if the players make poor decisions and/or have bad luck.
Magic
This is a heroic-magic campaign setting—there are NPCs with magic, but they usually do not wander about killing monsters. The frequency of magic items is straight out of the DMG.
There is no open market for magic items, except potions, and even then, the alchemist making potions usually has a customer list she’s working towards. However, most alchemists rely on external sources for their concoctions and are predisposed to people selling rare materials.
Coin
Uses the same coin system that is in the PHB. The nobility also uses letters of credit, which they can exchange for coin with other nobility and the crown. There’s no fractional banking system, but there are wealthy merchants that will exchange coins for these letters of credit.
