Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online (Foundry) Experience: 60+ sessions Location/Timezone: 3 x Melbourne/Sydney Australia. 2 x USA Availability: Fortnightly Sunday: 5 or 6pm Melbourne/Sydney Australia (4-hour session on avg.) Looking For: Paid DM Game style: We had 60 odd session's together with our previous DM but he is on hiatus and we're looking to start a 50/50 combat/roleplay on-going campaign. Starting at level 3 and going ideally to level 20. Our normal game time is 6pm every second Sunday (Melbourne Australia) this changes due to day light savings though (USA players make the time work). We loved our previous DM, it was a good mix of challenging combat and roleplay. We're very story-driven players, definitely not min-maxers, and have a purpose behind the decisions of what our characters are doing and letting them develop through the story. We're looking for a DM that can match our groups personality and loves creating immersion.
Hi, my name is Alta! I could gladly work with that time, and story and character driven games are my favorite to run. You guys sound like a lot of fun! I have a couple games already prepped to run, but I'm also happy to work with you guys to make a custom setting and campaign. Here's the few I have ready:
Cirque des énigmes
Game: D&D 5e Group type:Online Experience:All welcome (veteran DM) Game style:RP Heavy
Homebrew 5e campaign with players as performers and staff of a traveling circus! A strange circus with even stranger people. Mystery, fae, horror, necromancy, and of course 🤡 Meet the Ringmaster and his silent Shadow, the twin leaders of the cirque; a strongman ...minotaur?? that loves to cook; Petya, a nocturnal fortuneteller; the overly talkative Dr. Cross whose medical practices are... sometimes shady; and many more! Player input LOVED for what you want in the setting, story, etc. RP heavy, beginners more than welcome
THE HERO NEVER CAME
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: All welcome (veteran DM) Game style: RP Heavy
Homebrew D&D world of ancient deities, spirits, fae, and dragons. A cult is making a comeback after being "wiped out" ten years ago. People are being kidnapped, towns are being burned, and... a strange curse is sweeping through the land, turning those afflicted into monsters upon death. Across the lands are ancient, decrepit ruins dedicated to a forgotten hero and a forgotten religion. RP heavy, PC driven, healthy balance of dark and lighthearted. Beginner friendly!
AURIGA STARS
Game: FATE accelerated Group type: Online Experience: All welcome Game style: RP Heavy
High fantasy magical girl genre mixed with tokusatsu, partly cheesy and dumb, partly intense and emotional. Have fun with a magical Chosen (no gender restrictions) of your creation, pick a constellation to inherit power from, and... enroll in a high fantasy magical university floating above the grand sparkling city of Auriga!! Beginner friendly <3
Hard rules for all my games: NO racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, bigotry, etc. That includes fantasy versions (ie: "all orcs are born evil and therefore do x"). NO SA, noncon, torture.
I'm a 29yo nonbinary artist whose passion lies in storytelling! The most important things to me in ttrpgs are fun, roleplay, and story (including player characters' backstories, not just plot). I've been DMing for about 10 years and playing D&D for about 15. I love homebrew and having the players add onto the setting with locations, plot hooks, NPCs, deities, whatever they (reasonably) want to add! New players always welcome! Being LGBTQ+ myself, obviously this table loves and welcomes LGBTQ+ players!
Do not expect a rules lawyer here; the rules are here for me to use as a base, something to fall back on, but ultimately we're here to have fun and do cool things. Rules can and will be waived or bent in my games - but only in the favor of the players, never to try and put you at a disadvantage. I'm here to challenge the player characters and be their guide through the world they explore. Sure, the dice gods may demand a death every once in a blue moon, but I'm 100% the party's biggest fan.
The Hero Never Came sounds like it would be the best starting point for us but would it be able to be run as a long-term campaign? If we were to opt for the custom campaign setting is that something that you would have to build from scratch? How would you see the custom campaign being run/created?
Because of how much we play into our characters, sometimes to our downfall, I'm just mindful of trying to create something that would be as open as possible for the story to drive us together. E.g. the circus one sounds like it would be incredibly fun but I know some of the characters the group has (potentially) planned wouldn't be involved with a circus.
Hey hey! (: Yes, The Hero Never Came is built to be a long term campaign and there is plenty to do in the world and explore other than the main plot (which you technically don't even have to bother with). As for if you wanted to go custom, I think we'd spend session 0 building it together so it's a fun setting that we all have put something we want into it. Otherwise if y'all don't want to build a setting together, I have tons of settings I haven't used yet that I'd love to flesh out more.
