About the adventure

Many heroes and villains from the time of the Founding have called Tal'dorei home. Perhaps it was a different name in ancient times and maybe someday soon it will be known as something different. Some of the most prolific figures can trace their origins to these great lands. From Zan Tal'dorei, a key figure in toppling the Drassig Empire, to Vox Machina, a band of adventurers and mythic figures.

All great eras are proceeded by great people trying to better the world of Exandria but also by would-be foes who would lead it into darkness.

The year is now 842 PD. It has been three decades since The Chroma Conclave was defeated and while Vecna was stopped from Ascending to godhood, those events had very little impact on the continent of Tal'dorei. Three decades have passed since the last true crisis ripped through this fine continent and disturbed the peaceful lives of its inhabitants.

The Council of Tal'dorei is just starting to get out of its debts to the League of Miracles and many of the scars left behind by Thordak have begun to finally heal and close up. Many cities, towns, and hamlets are finally starting to prosper once again.

Sadly however not all is as it seems. Far to the south, veiled in Iron and Shadow, a new threat to the realm is beginning to develop.

Will you rise and save the realm of Tal'dorei when the time comes or will you stand by and watch it finally fall to the darkness that has threatened to envelop it time and again? Only time will tell, to reach the end of the story we first must begin the story...

Our story starts in 842 PD in the sleepy town of Kymal. Your travels brought you here because you, like many other denizens of Tal'dorei, desperately need work. Luckily for you, the Margrave of Kymal has sent out a writ asking for sellswords, mercenaries, and adventurers to help with a problem plaguing the town. Here is where our story begins, and here is where the threads of fate weave a tapestry that will be remembered for all time.

How to prepare

Have a good microphone! I have a sensitivity to audio (as do most people) and bad mics do my head in. You can create your character ahead of session 0 if you wish, however, if you aren't sure about how to do it you can do it with us during session 0. Other than that, bring yourselves and your imagination and let's have fun!

What I provide

I will be bringing the published Tal'dorei Reborn books from Foundry, as well as a curated Syrinscape playlist I have created just for this game and a discord channel with the Syrinscape bot I created as well. Additionally, I will be bringing Foundry itself with DnD Beyond integration for easier character creation and leveling up. Lastly, I will be bringing my DMing skills. Over the last decade, I have accumulated a number of skills that increase player activity and immersion while also keeping the narrative flowing. I also do funny voices.

Gameplay details

I have a Lines and Veil document I will be sending players to fill out so I have that information going forward. My X card is digital and anonymous. Session 0 will go over what players can expect from the game, how long it will last, and all of the homebrew rules I use. We will also go over my safety tools. The game itself will be played on Discord and Foundry VTT, no video is required but feel free to if you wish.

How will character creation work

Character creation can be completed before Session 0 or during it. The characters will be created in Foundry (or you can use DnD Beyond and import your character sheet for a much easier time). We use Standard Array for character creation however so no one feels the need to choose Variant Human for a feat, I give a free feat at level 1(and no you cannot have two feats if another source at character creation gives you one).

All of the WotC published materials are allowed, however as always if you choose something that gives you pause even for a moment, please ask me before locking it in.
