This method (besides being super fun) comes with the added reward of a Feat and 300 xp (i.e. level 2).
OR
B) Follow the parameters below:
- Level 1
- All official content allowed except for flying races, Warforged, Strixhaven backgrounds.
- For a backstory u can make it as intricate or as minimal as you would like. I require two things. 1) a strong character flaw 2) a strong "motivation to adventure". adventuring pays well but did u choose this path just because of the money?
Some further info if you care.... Will will be using the following optional rules from the DMG
Encumbrance
Flanking
Feats
Healer’s Kit Dependency
Background Proficiency
Gritty Resting
Injuries
Massive Damage
Morale
Things to remember:
The main way you will collect XP and level up is through spending gold.
There will be no fixed game time or any expectation of attendance for players. You play when YOU are free and when you can find another person to come adventure with you.
I will DM a session for groups as small as 2 PCs or as large as 8.
No healing spells or raise dead spells. Healing class or racial abilities are allowed but all abilities that only require an “action” or “bonus action” to use are changed to take 1 minute. (Paladin lay on hands for example)
I would be interested in this campaign. What days are you available to play? What time (timezone)?
Variant Encumbrance?
So, if you are a Bard, Cleric, etc., that can normally cast healing spells, you are not using these in the campaign? A Paladin's Lay-on-Hands, however, is allowed w/ an increased time to use?
Hello I’m new to the game and trying to learn how to dm for my friends and I think being able to play through the players eyes would definitely be beneficial I’m definitely interested in being able to play from their perspective.
Character Creation:
You can take standard array OR point buy OR take a chance and roll ONCE for stats
Players must have at least TWO characters ready to play at any given time. A stable of 3 would be even better.
Starting Gold or Starting Equipment (fyi there are no strength requirements for armor)
For everything else there are 2 options:
