New player looking to for D&D 5e Online group on Weekday Evenings. (1 or 2 days a week preferred, but this can easily be negotiated)
As stated I have very little experience. I have played a short amount of a single campaign before our DM had to stop the campaign. I am looking for online games in the US (EST) if possible, but this isn't something that would restrict me too heavily. It would be best if we could do evening sessions once or twice a week.
Since I am fairly new it would be best if casual games with a hint of roleplay could happen.
As I said, I am new. I would very much prefer to play rather than DM. In fact I don't think I should be anywhere near the buttons and levers behind the curtain.
Hello, I am also looking to join a group. I am free on Tuesdays and Fridays. I live in ohio and would be the Eastern Time Zone. I am new to the extent that I have not played a single game. I have created a couple of characters so am familiar with that process. If your willing this would give us two players.
I'm pretty new myself(Have two complete games under me which is about a months worth of time lol) and I'm looking for a new group to play with, if you are interested in having a newer player along then hit me up!
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: New'ish (Ive got 2 games under me) Location/Timezone: Tx, CT Availability: Anytime after 6PM Central time Preferred role: Player (To new to try DM just yet) Game style: casual, hardcore, roleplay, hack'n'slash (Can play almost all types just depends on group)
Would love to have you two. If possible I would like to have one or two more and a DM, but given how new we all are it may be better to keep the player number small. Not sure on that having so little experience, though.
I think a DM may have a better idea of how many new players he wants to run. I agree though small group may be easiest for us to understand. I am happy with three players so far though.
I'm curious to try my hand at DMing. I'm pretty comfortable with 5e as a player so may be able to help new players. I own an Ultimate License of Fantasy Grounds including most core rules books and most major game modules. If you’re not familiar with Fantasy Grounds this means no player would need to purchase a license. My license allows me to host and share my purchased content.
My weaknesses are I’m new to DMing and have never used the DM interface in Fantasy Grounds. But as I see it that puts us all on the same level of experience with 5e and Fantasy Grounds. We would all be figuring it out together. Unless of course any of you are experienced with Fantasy Grounds.
I’m available Monday through Thursday evenings EST and other days and times case by case. I would probably be most comfortable with a 4-5 player party to start.
If interested and okay with playing via Fantasy Grounds let me know.
I am not familiar with Fanstasy grounds, but it looks like the demo (free) license says one player and one gm. I am not sure if it was just referring to single player or single group. Method aside I wouldn't mind a relatively new dm with the player experience you describe.
Hi, I'm a fairly experienced player with around 5 years of general group roleplaying games behind me. I mostly DM for my personal friends but I've been trying to find new people to connect with. I'd like to be a Player Character but I'm happy to help new people learn stuff (that also means I'm willing to help inexperienced DMs, I'm not hardcore by any means). I love roleplaying and will probably want to talk in a funny voice. I tend to play tanks, I especially love barbarians and fighters.
I'm available Tuesdays at any time, though this is unfortunately the only time I'm available. I can make it on this day at really any time consistently. I'm in Kansas but I have friends I play games with all over the world so I'm comfortable navigating around different time zones. I've been searching for a game for months, please help me out here!
I usually voice over discord and play using roll20, but that's more out of convenience than necessity.
If Magiks agrees this would give Wrong write four players if we want him to DM our group. I also have discord, and I do have an account with roll20 when I was playing around (still havn't played a game). Having one experienced player to help us with the ropes and the DM wouldn't be a bad idea as well. The common denomitor for all of us may be Tuesdays, and if I have the time zones correct 7pm EST which would be 6pm CET, would be the earliest possible.
If we could do an hour later that would work best for me. 8pm EST or 7pm CST
Other than that everything looks good. I am down to play on either roll20 or Fantasy Grounds starting not this coming tuesday, but the after that, the 1st of may. Discord works for me as well.
Just let the group know what works best and we will take this to DMs with the DM.
Hey, unfortunately I got invited to another game before I saw all of this. Sorry guys, I was looking around and asking for invites to a lot of groups and someone else poached me first! If that doesn't work out, maybe I can still join you guys? Really sorry :(
Recently our DM had to leave due to personal matters before we could get our campaign underway. We are now looking for a DM to host a game once a week ideally on Tuesdays after 8pm (EST)
If you are okay running some newbies through a campaign we would be very happy to play.
Hello, I would be happy to dm for you guys if you'd like, sadly I'm not sure if I'd be able to do Tuesday very well. I'm fairly busy throughout the week but Saturday or maybe Sunday could work if that's ok with you guys
Hi Sasquatch15, unfortunately three of our four players are restricted to weekdays, one of which is only available Tuesdays and Fridays. We understand if you can't do that, but if you are able to swing it we would love to have you.
All of our players have joined my discord server, and we are still looking for a DM. I regret that I am the wonderful player that is only free on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Good Evening! I am a newer DM but I have a pretty firm grasp of most of the important rules and love creating scenarios for my peeps to play around in! I can make Tuesday's at 7pm CST work Almost every week, may have to work the occasional Tuesday evening.
I have played role playing games for about 14 years, have done tons and tons of character creation and rp. I'm also a manager irl so it makes dming the obvi choice. XD
I like to lean more into the role playing aspect than the constant dice roll aspect, which is typically a lot easier to engage new players with. you won't get constantly beat down by the rules, instead it would be more of a "play your character and we can make a check to see if it worked." That being said I do like to throw in at least one combat per session, and the occasional long round combat.
If all of that jives with y'all, we can do a one off to see if our personalities mesh well or not.
Hello Terry, I like the sounds of your playstyle. I am not opposed to combat but definately didn't want to be all combat. I have sent you a pm with the invite link. Thanks for your interest.

I am fine with 8pm EST on Tuesdays. Be sure to edit your topic to closed unless we want more people.

If you guys are still looking for new members, I'm available as well. CST timezone but that's only an hour difference from EST.
Not too familiar with fantasy grounds and new to DND in general, but I can work on familiarizing myself as much as possible before then if need be.
Would love to have you, Slmkaz. With you in the mix I'm gonna go ahead and close the thread. Not sure we could handle many more.
