Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: all experience levels Location/Timezone: MST Schedule: Saturdays at a time that works for all players Roles sought: looking for 4-5 players, preferably with at least 1 representative of each of the two sexes Game style: medium levels of both roleplay and combat, adjustable to the desires of the group, though decent amount of roleplay is desired.
Both seasoned and new players are welcome, but newbies will need to have or obtain a copy of the Player's Handbook. I will be going above and beyond in pre-campaign work, especially with new players, including both individual and group session 0's; so if you are new to the game, or even just a little rusty, you need to invest in your experience a little so as to get the most out of the campaign.
Looking to have a good amount of interesting roleplay with a decent amount of combat as well.
This campaign will have a unique mix of both homebrew, as well as influences from several different sourcebooks.
Those with good alignments are especially encouraged to join, as we will be using the "Honor" ability score rule variant (as well as several other fun rule variants and plot twists) many of which will favor those who have a good alignment (though neutral alignments are free to join, they just may find some of the game mechanics less rewarding).
Evil-aligned characters are not welcome.
All action and violence may be PG-13, but all language, dialogue, and roleplaying must be kept PG (for example, no swearing, innuendo, sexual references, etc.).
Much of the play will be "theater of the mind," but we may also use some maps on platforms such as Roll20 in some circumstances where that would increase the fun for everyone.
All games are free, but in order for everyone to have access to all the rules expansions and other digital resources they might need to reference and have access to, I will be asking players to split the cost evenly with the other players of things such as the D&D Beyond subscription (about $10 per player per year) that allows me to share all my source materials with all of the players so that everybody doesn't have to buy their own sourcebooks outside of each person's copy of the Player's Handbook.
There will also be chances at the beginning of the campaign to earn special in-game perks such as Wondrous or even Legendary items and rule variants that will tilt the game in your favor. These will be "Free-mium" style goodies where you can play for free (other than the subscription costs needed to keep the game going) but you are given the option of buying additional goodies to give you an edge in the game.
