Thank You to everyone for looking, at this point we are full up on players, just need a DM.
Hello fellow adventures. I am looking to form a long term group. I have never played any of the published adventures and am looking to build a group around doing so. My two years with 5e have all been homebrew.
TLDR: Looking for a long term group and DM to play Lost Mines of Phandelver / Storm King’s Thunder in 4-5 hour blocks on Sundays every week. EST, time to be determined.
I am looking first and foremost for a DM, and secondly for players.
I want to start with a session 0, build characters, and begin with the Lost Mines of Phandelver, transitioning those characters into Storm King’s Thunder.
Player Characters should be built with a backstory of the players design such that elements can be weaved into the established content. Don’t sweat not knowing the material (I don’t), just make an interesting backstory. Mine is below. This will allow 1-2 week periods devoted to character development in sections of the campaign that allow for a little side story telling. Once the campaign concludes the group will vote on which campaign to play next:
Tales of the Yawning Portal Princes of the Apocalypse Curse of Strahd Tomb of Annihilation Out of the Abyss Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat
The DM can either continue to fulfill that role or become a player. A player can then assume the role of DM, or we can search for a DM to host the next adventure we’ve picked.
If we are searching for a DM, we can then spend 2-4 weeks finishing character backstory loose threads and “settling” those characters. This will allow us to continue to play.
When starting a new campaign, a player can either play a new character, or play the same character (starting at level 1) again.
If you join, you should be able commit to the campaign in full, but are not obligated to play subsequent campaigns. Though the hope is to find people who would like to continue. Looking for 5, possibly 6 players (including myself) and a DM. Missing an occasional week is ok, we all have lives, things come up, but it should not be a regular occurrence.
I am looking to have a consistent game on Sundays. A 4-5 hour block. We can work together to determine what time works best for everyone, but will start no earlier then 7am EST, finishing no later then 5pm EST. Once we nail down a time, we should play at that time every week to ensure consistency and make it part of each persons schedule.
I would ask that no one under 25 apply as I would like to find individuals around my age (36), though there will be no cap. All Official content and UA will be allowed.
I have the legendary bundle on DnDBeyond, so anyone who is part of the group will have shared access to all published material, so no need to purchase any module you don’t have. I have a discord channel we can use for communication.
As for me:
My name is Aaron, I will initially be playing Ryder Arawn, a Wood Elf Rogue (Arcane Trickster) (7) Ranger (Gloom Stalker) (13).
Ryder has spent his life as a Redscar Jackal, a guild of roaming hunters who travel the wilds and from town to town, taking bounties on dangerous creatures, bandits and all manner of troublesome fair. Within this band Ryder, though skilled in survival in the wilds, specialized in the urban aspects of the guild’s activities. He has made contacts far and wide, he has an ear to the ground in every city. This life has given him a lot of friends, and possibly as many enemies. Ryder, as of late has been looking for a change though, and rumors of trouble in a mine has sparked his interest.
Anyone interested in being part, please post. Thank you.
Hey Aaron. This sounds great to me. I can commit to those times and I am very interested in a longer term game with a bit of character development.
I'm relatively inexperienced and I am not up to the challenge of being DM. However, I have played a bit and already have my character and backstory in mind.
Let me know if I'd fit in with your group!
Me:
I'm Rich, my character is just known to the party as "Knux" as that is the only name he has been willing to give. He's a human fighter (Battle Master) (20).
Knux is an affable, easy going young man who enjoys a drink, joke and bar room brawl. But he's not the world's greatest actor, and anyone who spends any time with him will know he's hiding a great deal beneath the surface. To the party he presents himself as a happy go lucky drifter who's good with a shield on his arm and a blade in his hand. But he's clearly steeped in a military background and deflects any and all questions about his past. Physically imposing at a bulky 6'4 in height, he is a front line monster in battle and has a head for battlefield tactics and strategy. He's heard the same rumours about the same mine but has none of the same interest. He's just taking on what appears to be an easy, low profile job for fair recompense.
dude got an idea i always love the big strong brutes and my characters e tend to be big strong brutes well how you like a partner a pet like one a big strong black scaled lizardfolk?
I was thinking a black scale lizerdfolk[ aka the big strong ones] and a barbarian . and to bloodthirsty mesand his first respons to enything is kill it

no mercy unless held back + short fused
Anything hostile I would hope. Or just anything we would randomly encounter?
Heyo, those times are great for me. I am on the east coast as well.
I would like to play as a Human Bard
I have about 4-5 years of DnD experience, playing many different characters.
Annyways...
Luci Briggard. Charmer, drinker, gambler, deal-maker. Face dusty with scraggly facial hair like he just walked through a desert, voice like the sand that scarred his face. Build like an old farm hand that had work hard for his next meal. A wanderer by nature, Jack-of-All by profession..but not without equal compensation. Eyes that can tell a story...a story of loss...of sacrifice. Luci can talk and snake his way out of any situation, or into anything that catches his eye. He can charm any crowd with his guitar and songs of distant memories. Always more than happy to lend a helping hand, especially if it helps his situation, as long as he gets his payment that is.
i would like to be apart of the group if you'll allow me to join but i cannot fill the role of DM sadly i already have the back story my persons motives and the back story again i would love to join if there is still any spots open

Still building the party, what character would you like to play? See Rich and Lyrithu's post above as for the kind of blurb to write up.
Thamior Naïlo was orphaned as an infant when his entire village was slain by Drow that where at war with his people, a group of Moon Elves, but as chance would have it, a human happened to be passing through the village after the slaughter. He was merely rummaging for anything of value when a a cry broke the silence. It was Thamior , crying out from a backpack he had been hidden away in. The thought of raising a child was too much for this wandering human to bear, but so too was the thought of allowing this infant to die alone. So Thamior was rescued from the desolation and given to a wizard who would raise and teach the child. 100 years has passed since then, passed too is the wizard who was both father and teacher to Thamior, now 132 years old and setting off into the world to find adventure
I WANT TO PLAY!!!!! This sounds PERFECT for what I am looking for!!!
My name is Jill, and I am 31 and newly in love with D&D. I love the idea of playing long term with one great group of people.
Character ideas.
Alshara - She is an Eladrin Wild Magic Sorcerer. I created a lot of her character from Xanathar's. Being Eladrin, she has 4 distinct personalities, but most of the time she is pretty happy go lucky. I have an entire 2 page backstory for her if you are interested.
Melody - She is a Elvin Druid (Circle of the Shepard), I'm still working on her backstory, but I'm thinking that she is going to have some Dr. Doolittle type history where she didn't know that she was a druid until animals started following her around and talking to her, freaking her out.

Can you type up a paragraph blurb for Melody, look at some of the other character post for an idea, doesn’t need to be super complex.
