Brand new DM here, ive been playing DnD for around 6 months and have really enjoyed it, and am excited for you to possibly now enter my world.
If this is your mission and you accept it, you will be starting as a level one character who for some reason or another finds themselves in the city of Yukahlan, formed in the untamed Emerald State around 600 years ago. Its a flourishing city in a tropical environment, with powerful mages using magic to form an irrigation system allowing for plush farms surrounding the area, with the city itself having a large sewer system that may or may not be built surrounding ancient ruins.
Your character will be integral to the story, and I will spend a couple of weeks with you all before session zero to help flesh out a backstory you guys are stoked with, and then work it into the story. Because I am a new DM I will warn you now that there may be some railroading, and i will ask you all to not leave the city until you guys are prompted. I dare say the first few sessions will be a feeling out process, but I am planning for this to be a long campaign, so I feel like we will all grow together and have a fantastic experience.
We will be playing with DnD Beyond for character sheets, Discord for voice chat and using Roll20 for maps, for character creation we will roll as a group for stats. All races and classes in the normal books are allowed within reason.
