Thousands of years ago, a monsterous, unknowable being from the Far Realm attempted to pull the whole of Yllara into its domain. Though it was eventually defeated, it streched out the Material Plane and brough Yllara closer than ever before to the four Elemental Planes. Because of this, over the next few hundered years, four portals to the elemental planes opened across Yllara, causing the emergence or mutation of variousentities known as Primordial Beasts. Some of them have been gentle giants, and some highly intelligent, malicious tyrants. Over the years, various factions of Yllara joined together in a compact known as the Primordial Accord, agreeing to cooperate on managing and, if needed, destroying these creatures.

It is rare that a new and dangerous Primordial Beast emerges, but when it does, the Primordial Accord assembles a team to locate and destroy it. Reports have recently come in about ships being frozen in blocks of ice in otherwise warm waters. It is unkown what exactly happened to the crew, but it is clear none of them survived. As such, the Primordial Accord has called another meeting for the first time in almost a century

Each of you, respected leaders among members of your faction, have been granted the immense honor by your faction of being chosen to represent them at this meeting. Your task is simple: hunt down this beast across the Great Sea, assess its true danger to the citizens of Yllara, and if needed, exterminate it. So, will you end the threat and win even more acclaim from your respective factions, or will you join the long list of victims this beast has already claimed?

Hello everyone, I am Inferno, and welcome to the world of Yllara! Yllara is my personal homebrew world that I created with inspirations from various monster-hunting and Kaiju media, desgined both to give players the experience of fighting the sorts of giant monsters few parties get to face, and to allow players to explore a world full of factions and political intrigue. This particular campaign will be a short 6 session campaign that leans into the monster hunting aspects, as a team of adventurers join together to hunt down a terrifying sea serpent on behalf of the Primordial Accord. Players will begin at level 8 (with some additional items and a rare magic item) and will remain at that level for the whole of the campaign. Games will be run over Roll20 and Discord, and character sheets will be made on D&D Beyond.
