Game: D&D 5e Group type: Discord / Play-By-Post Experience: Any(I find that a good mix of old and new players leads to the most interesting games) Location/Timezone: I am in CST but anyone is welcome as this game will run asynchronously. Schedule: Expect around 10-20 minutes of play every other day. I want this to be an easy game players can make decisions as I have a free moment every so often. Roles sought: Looking for four to five players. Game style: Play-By-Post leads itself better to narrative/rp games but I do enjoy some combat encounters.
Hello my name is Jake. I'm a DM from Houston who runs 2 local games a week. I'm looking to add a 3rd game that has less of a time commitment that I can play in a more infrequent casual pace. I think getting a group for PBP would be ideal for this. Open to everyone. LGBTQ+ friendly. Looking for around 5 players ideally 3 with experience and 2 newbies. Please answer the questions below to apply. Add your discord username for me to reach out.
Tell me about your favorite DnD moment or if you are new why you want to try DnD.
Do you have any experience playing by post?(New players are welcome just trying to get a mix)
What is your favorite fantasy movie or show?
Do you have any official adventures you want to play but haven't yet?
Please do not include any character information.
What do you think about giving player narrative agency during the game? What does it that mean to you?
I am new to DnD, and have always wanted to fry it due to my love for role-playing, and fantasy! I am a bug fan of Greek mythology, fantasy, ect and thought that DnD was a beautiful mix between role-playing, and a social game that could be enjoyed between friends.
I have absolutely no experience with DnD, I know some of the basics however.
I don't really have a particular favorite, unfortunately, though I do like lord of the rings, the black cauldron, and more recently the owl house. I think though the first fantasy thing I ever came into contact with was Heman and Shera!
I have yet to find an official adventure I'm particularly interested in but anything is fine with me! I love homebrew concepts most all, however.
I believe giving plays narrative agency can either be an amazing asset or go poorly depending on the group which you are playing with. I have nothing against it but I also am not particularly attached.
If you find you're interested in having me come on, my discord is Espenfalls#5650 !
Hi there, this kind of game sounds right up my alley and I'd love to join.

We were deep in a trap-filled dungeon and trying to figure out how to get through a room with pressure plate traps. We were stumped for a while until one player theorized their heavy armor might be enough weight to set off the traps. The session became 4 players fending off monsters to protect our frontliner, who was frantically trying to doff their armor to place on the trap.

A little bit, I joined a couple PBP games in the past but they ended up fizzling out. Most of my D&D experience is playing in person.

Do you have any official adventures you want to play but haven't yet?
I've played more homebrew than official adventures, would be happy to play either but no specific adventures in mind.
What do you think about giving player narrative agency during the game? What does it that mean to you?
In my mind it would mean more collaborative story telling and having the players give input in creating certain elements in the world. I've seen this succeed in other TTRPGs I've played but I haven't seen this much in a D&D game so I'd be curious to see if it works. If it does, this would be a cool source of player engagement and help the spread the work of world-building for the DM as well.
