Hi there! I am looking for a group of players to play a campaign with. I know very little as I have only played one game of dnd before, and the people I played with did not take it seriously at all. Therefore, I would love to join a group that actually wants to take the game seriously and invest into the game. I'm ok with paid campaigns if need be, but obviously if we can do a free game that would be awesome.
Game: D&D 5e (Any?) Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: New Location/Timezone: I live in Oregon so PST Availability: I'm available on Friday nights usually after 8pm, Saturday mornings starting at 5am (I wake up early), or Saturday nights. Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm looking for a group that wants to take the game seriously. I don't mean bland and not having fun. I mean invest themselves into the game, maybe roleplay a little (no experience doing this in dnd but sounds like a blast), but really just stick with it and have fun together. I am 24 so I am looking for 18+ players.
I used to be a DM (1st a player) several editions ago (face-to-face). I honestly do not have the time to commit as I used to but I just watched the movie yesterday and memories got back to me and having the opportunity to play again is tentive...I am almost ready to buy me the 5th ed. core bundle to get into the new rules (which seems less complex than in the old days) . I can give it a try 5 am PST Saturdays is fine with me. We used to play 8 hrs in a row...probably 2 to 3 hrs at starting point could be fine as well. I might be able to get my daugther into it (she is 24) but she is not a morning person ... we need a DM ...due to the new system I am not ready to start been one but perhaps it will come easy, the steps are:
DM role set, the DM is a key element to make your game serious and fun as well. DM not to be a player to.
Get at least 3 players (5 would be great, more is not manageable)
Agree to the type of campaign/world and characters to play with (balance team not good or lets say is harder all to be wizards for instance) (The free version allow each of us to create up to 6 characters but not recommended to play more than one character in a table)
Agree to the level to start with. In my opinion starting at level 1 can be tedious (at least in previous editions) I recommend to start in level 4 (jump one bar into the stats).
Also to interact knowadays a server like discord seems to be the way
Hey there! Thanks for the reply! Yeah I am down for this for sure. I just watched the movie as well last night and the itch to play DND just got worse.
If some more people start replying we can probably get this rolling. If you want to add me on discord it's noah12712#2653
Hey I have one more person joining who is fairly experienced as well. I am looking for one other person, but if your daughter joins we will be 4 players. Then we will just need a GM
I’m a fairly new DM and have been running an in person game for the last six months. My husband recently passed from cancer and I find I have a lot of free time on my hands. He had encouraged me to keep on going with the game, but it’s looking like it might not pick back up for another month or so. I’ll be playing his character as an NPC and I think I need time and distraction to think on that for at least a month or so.
I’ve been kicking around this idea of having an online game going with some folks other than all my husband’s friends. I’m in Washington State. If you’re wanting a module or a fresh campaign, both work for me, and perhaps we could at least converse on the subject, if you’re interested. I used to be an author, so coming up with scenarios outside of a module isn’t difficult for me. I’m not a voice actor, but I do enjoy role play and encourage others to try it out. I’m not a stickler for rules. There is the rule of cool and I certainly abide by that, but there are some things I do hold to some reality based ideals. I don’t believe you should be able to take your action to disengage and run right passed the opponent without incurring an opportunity attack, however, if you back away from the opponent then all is good. Sound specific? That’s because it is and I’m willing to work with people to have a great game. The players are the heroes whether they’re evil, good, or neutral. I’m a facilitator and a creator. The players are the ones here to have fun. If it’s not fun, then why do we do it?
Hey there! I am Mech79, a player, for an epic 18+ 5e homebrew world and community. Our sessions are Sundays from 10am till around 2pm pacific standard time would that work for you?

Cool, I watched the movie yesterday and even got the world map with the popcorns combo. Start claiming the thieves free gallery package:

To bad we are not in the same state. I am in ET zone. I will create a discord account for this specific and try to reach you.
Thanks
Nice! That's awesome.
Thank you! I claimed it.
Ah yes 5am for me means 8am for you though which might make things a little easier on you.
