Hearth of the Gods is designed to give players a game-like experience. Story and roleplay play a minimal part in the campaign, players instead will explore different dungeons containing their own story and quests. The campaign is meant to be a challenge in which players take a character from lvl 1 to 20, gaining a place among the gods.
Below I have a few details about the campaign, I’m hoping to add more with player input!
The players begin at lvl 1 in the “Hearth of the Gods,” which serves as a base of operations for the party.
Character creation and leveling
Players create all new characters at lvl 1
Ability scores are rolled (3d6)
Health die are rolled at level up
PHB Races are allowed
All classes and subclasses from official sourcebooks are allowed
Feats are allowed
XP is given in real time as it is earned
When rolling Hit Die at lvl up, max HP and current HP are increased by number rolled
Hearth of the Gods
The Hearth serves as a base of operations for the players
Players can store an unlimited amount of items and treasure here without fear of losing it
Traveling here will cause all monsters to respawn
Resting
Long Rests can only be taken when at the Hearth
Short Rests can be taken at campfires placed at certain points within dungeons
Level up takes effect when resting at a campfire
Dungeons
Enemy health is rolled for
Gold and dropped items are rolled for
Players can travel back to HotG at any time, taking anything on their person with them
