We are wanting to add another person into our group, as we are about to start the next chapter of our campaign. Before I get to far into this, a quick (and obvious) disclaimer, we are only seeking out serious applicants; people who are committed to play through a campaign start to finish. So please don’t waist both of our time if you can’t consistently commit to Fridays 20:00-24:00 GMT+2 (rare exceptions are obviously understandable). But without further ado, I am going to give a quick summary of the upcoming campaign, our group/our group’s rules, and character creation.
Game: D&D 5e - Beyond the Dragon of Icespire Peak Experience: We are open to everyone/anyone that is respectful and committed to playing through an entire campaign VTT: Foundry Virtual Tabletop or whatever the current DM prefers Playtime: 20:00-24:00 GMT+2 The Upcoming Campaign: We just completed Dragon of Icepire Peak; getting our characters to level 7. Now, we are set to play the expanded content which should run from 7-13. While one of our players will most likely be generating a new character (most likely an artillerist artificer), the other 2 players are going to remain with there characters (a draconic sorcerer and an echo knight/ancestral guardian barbarian). That said, before our main campaign continues, we are aiming to give our current DM a small break. So before we go into the next chapter of the main campaign, we are set to do a few ‘one shots’ from Candlekeep Mysteries, which will be all new characters starting at level 1. Each of these ‘one shots’ should last one or 2 sessions and you are encouraged/welcome to join in. Our group/group rules: Right now, we have a fairly diverse group: 3 guys 1 girl, from 4 different nationalities, with ages ranging from 20s to 30s. We met a year ago to play DnD and have been playing since. Typically, when a campaign is about to begin, we all evenly chip in to buy the content for the DM (books, maps, extra) as we want things to be fair for everyone. However, this is more something to keep in mind for any future campaigns, as we already are set for the current one/one shots. Additionally, we do not have a set ‘forever DM’ so we do change it up here and there. As for the opening, we are open/welcome to anyone joining (age, race, political agenda, experience, extra) as long as they follow our rules; the main one is very simple: don’t be a dick. While we might make jokes here and there, we do not tolerate anyone that intentionally mean, cheats, or anything along those lines. So, if you are not a dick, we’ll all get along fine. Finally, no inter-character relationships; that can make things really creepy/awkward really fast. Beyond that, we don’t have much else. Character creation: For making our characters, our group basically allows any official WOTC 5e content; with the exception of flying races (depending on campaign setting). While we small tweak are definitely allowed (nothing major, basically along the lines of Tasha), anything beyond that must be ok-ed by everyone in the group. So, assuming you keep to official WOTC material, when making your character you have your choice between: standard array, point buy, or rolling for stats (roll 4d6, drop the low; re-roll if you don’t get anything 15 or above). Though, if you do choose to roll, just don’t cheat… that would be a dick move which breaks our main rule. Pick whatever alignment you want as long; just make sure your character works with the group and has a reason for following the story line. Apply: If you are open to join our group, please respond to the following questions below. I will then review them with my group and reach out to a handful of you for a 1 on 1 conversation. This will hopefully let us figure out if I feel you are right for our group, and also it will let you if I am the type of person you want to play with.

51 years old
Previous 5e campaigns you played and/or DMed for (completed, ongoing, or never finished)?:
I started with a weekly homebrew 5e group in late 2019 into early 2020. That fizzled but one of the players is a DM for other groups so i joined them, again weekly homebrew, until late 2020. I dabbled in some West Marches-type servers on Discord off and on in 2021-2022.
Preferred play style percentage (exploration, role-play, and combat)?:
I really like a lot of action, but not without some rich story telling and intrigue. I always do light RP, at least in my head, by having an origin and motivation for my PC, story is important! Exploration and combat are largely part of my craving for adventure, so i would give them each 33% or 66% for both and another 33% on the RP. Roughly.
Have you DMed before? And do you want to be a DM?:
I have never DM'd before. At this time, i am not interested. I am still trying to get a handle on the basic action/turn/bonus movement mechanics.
What character would you ideally like to play (starting at level 7)? Please briefly describe the character?:
I am a skill and feat junkie. I lean to Rogues a lot, Artificer and Warlocks. Ideally, my character would help fill a gap in the party's makeup and fit in well with the DM world. So, i am very flexible here. Since i don't have a regular group, i spend way too much time examining char builds on D&D Beyond. I have like 40 smth PC's on board. My latest creation is a Half-Orc Druid, Circle of Land (Swamp) inspired by.... Swamp Thing from DC Comics.
And finally, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?:
I have loved D&D since i was a child, but never really go to play much, even into adulthood. I started MMORPG in 2000, so that satisfied the urges mostly. I still do play MMORPG daily. Now, with these new fancy innerwebs, i can find a group and interact online. I like using the web-based maps and such available to us now. I am an American, currently living and working in Poland as a deployed civilian contractor. My time is GMT+1 but i work 6 days a week, 12 hour days. I have limited opportunity, but great desire to play.

Previous 5e campaigns you played and/or DMed for (completed, ongoing, or never finished)?: Finished the first campaign I ever joined last winter and am part of 2 more (1 that just started with the same group and another that's been on-going for 2 years or so). Never DM'd, only ever played.
Preferred play style percentage (exploration, role-play, and combat)?: Huh, good question. I never really thought about it but I guess I'm somewhat of an explorer in most of my RPG outings. Not in terms of "nature" or the "dungeons" or the like but the entire world that's set before me. I love worldbuilding, it's the most amazing part of any piece of media I consume or am part of. I love intrigues and huge revelations about the world. Going hand in hand with that: I'm a fan of roleplay but suck at accents afaik :p So I'd say 40/30/30 if that works?
Have you DMed before? And do you want to be a DM?: Have not, would like to.
What character would you ideally like to play (starting at level 7)? Please briefly describe the character?: It honestly depends on the party's current composition as I like to play every role equally, so I'm fine with whatever role that's needed. I do have a few ideas, namely that of a Lunar Sorcerer or a Twilight Cleric. Rune Knight inspired by Mongolian craftsmanship would also be something I'd like to play very much.
And finally, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?: Well, I'm an avid enjoyer of RPGs in general and had played such video games for a long time before I discovered the concept of DnD (or other TTRPGs for that matter). I've been playing DnD for roughly 3 years now and enjoy it a lot. Never played official content though, so this'd mean a lot. Other than that, I'm also attending University and pursuing some interests I had ever since growing up. I'm somewhat introverted when it comes to real life but extroverted online, it's a weird combination and I'm not sure if I like it myself lol. I should be available any evening from 6pm (GMT+2) onwards.
Previous 5e campaigns you played and/or DMed for (completed, ongoing, or never finished)?: Played through LMOP with a group, currently playing a homebrew campaign and also running COS as a DM
Preferred play style percentage (exploration, role-play, and combat)?: pretty much an even split between all of them - I love when roleplay leads to exploration which leads to combat and is constantly mixed up.
Have you DMed before? And do you want to be a DM?: I currently DM for a group, and I wouldn't mind DMing in the future but currently I'm looking for a campaign to join as a player
What character would you ideally like to play (starting at level 7)? Please briefly describe the character?: I'd love to play a bard/warlock, I have a good idea for a character who's basically a metal-head bard blessed with powers from a demonic entity (not an evil alignment though). I'd be happy to mix it up though depending on the party and what would fit well into an existing group, I love playing the scout type party role so a ranger would always be fun for me.
And finally, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?: I work full time in the bike industry, I always have Fridays off work so the timings would be perfect for me. I spend most of my free time either out on my bike or playing guitar, and play dnd as often as I can. I've been playing DnD for about 2 years, and completely fell in love with it. I really like the sound of your group and the dynamics of it, I'd be down for chipping in with any content for the DM and am a pretty chill person to get on with. I'm in a position where I really want to find a group and commit to a full campaign, feel free to add my discord DuncanB#8459 if you need any further info
"Likely artillerist artificer" checking in (just need my harengon ranger to get obliterated by the white dragon retire happily back to the Feywild...)
Can confirm it's a great group + dynamic, started with CoS as total strangers and have managed to play practically every week for the past 18 months!
In case anyone gets too far down a character creation rabbithole we've also used the 'bonus starting feat' rule more recently (and if/when I take another turn at DMing would be cool with this...)
Oh and we can also 'publicly' roll stats in the campaign Discord server (except for Irisches_Glueck who has consistently proven his 'trustworthiness' via suspiciously low rolls using IRL dice!)
Previous 5e campaigns you played and/or DMed for (completed, ongoing, or never finished)?: I am currently in an ongoing campaign, we try to meet weekly but haven't been able to recently.
Preferred play style percentage (exploration, role-play, and combat)?: We haven't done much exploration in my campaign so I am not really sure, I think 30/30/40 would be good.
Have you DMed before? And do you want to be a DM?: I have not and I'm not interested in doing so
What character would you ideally like to play (starting at level 7)? Please briefly describe the character?: I would like to play rogue, ranger, druid. But I am open to play anything that will diverse the party and what is needed.
And finally, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?: I am very new to DND, the current campaign im in is my first one, I have been playing since August/September of last year. I really enjoy it and want to play and learn more about DND.
Previous 5e campaigns you played and/or DMed for (completed, ongoing, or never finished)?:
I've played through about 5 different short/oneshot games, I've played some of COS, we didn't finish that. I've DMed a couple of oneshots with homebrew rules and mechanics.
Preferred play style percentage (exploration, role-play, and combat)?:
I'd have to say 30-40-30, roleplay and making decisions based on what I think my character would do is what I find most fun.
Have you DMed before? And do you want to be a DM?:
I have DMed a couple of short games, I'm currently building a world/campaign I hope to run in the future.
What character would you ideally like to play (starting at level 7)? Please briefly describe the character?:
I would play a royal half-elf failing bard that went to a school of magic whilest growing up. He's looking to make a pact to try and become famous. Bard 6, sorcerer 1. Looking for warlock 1 next.
And finally, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?:
Sure, I'm from Wales, I'm easy going and relaxed. I like playing video games, hiking and playing chess. I work 5 days a week and am free most evenings. I'm off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
